South Africa's tour of India - October/December 2015

In India Binny has no shot of getting into the test side ... Rohit in this form it would be hard to keep him from the test side.

Except for those matches vs Sri Lanka...

To be fair Binny had a crucial role in the SL series win. The third test in SL was on a pitch that helped the seamers a lot. Ishant was unplayable and that ought to tell you how much the pitch was assisting the seamers. But in India (that is on Indian pitches, which is a point I think you missed in the above post), Binny will not get into the test side period.

If he was spinner maybe, but a third seamer in the Indian test side for a home test, not happening.

Dhoni does`nt have the hitting ability anymore. He was struggling to get it off the square and the only reason he got to 31 was because the field was spread and his awkward mistimed strokes kept landing in no mans land to allow him pick those twos. He does`nt warrant a spot in the side as a No.6 anymore and I don`t think he is a good enough batsman (not better than Rahane) to bat in the top 3.

Rohit would feel most dissapointed after scoring 150 in a losing cause.

I think this ODI tells you of the decline in Dhoni. 3-4 years ago there was no way India would have lost this close contest.

sadly this is getting truer day by day.. im just hoping he turns it around like SRT did at thsi stage in his career but then MSD for all his abilities is no SRT. I just want him to get a quick dignified farewell if he has to go.

The World T20 should be it for him. Dhoni has struggled to hit like he used to for a while now, I think it was around the Eng Tour that it started. Him farming the strike and then being unable to see out the final (I think) ODI against England, and he has never quite been himself post that as a hitter.

Feel for MS. I think he's the best finisher in the history of cricket. I'd rather see him leave in a blaze of glory than go out on a whim. I said this after the '15 WC and I will say it again.. 'Rid him off the captaincy.' I think it takes a lot out of an individual and I can't see what more MS has to offer. India needs some fresh ideas and VK is the direction to go in. If I might be cheeky, I'd hand the reigns to Rohit. I think he's an exceptional limited overs batsman and I've seen him tactically change games as captain in the IPL. I also believe that MS should carry on keeping and batting @ 6 for a while. I think, the rid off the burden will give him a new wing and he might shine again. Regardless, a lot of hysteria is being created about him. He still made a run a ball 30. It's specially irritating when a worm like Manjrekar passes 'expert' comments about a legend like MS. I hope someone reminds him of his exceptional Strike Rate and pressure handling abilities. The chap can't even hold a microphone to most of us here and he's passing 'expert judgement' on a cricketer beyond his realms in all his lifetimes put together.

Plight of India. The average man thinks he's better than someone who's conquered the world.

Like he did to all the seniors, it's high time to drop MSD.

Maybe he shouldn't give his wicket away and finish the game then he wouldn't be disappointed...

Very good performance from the SA boys. Solid batting and held our nerve with the ball. Tahir getting both rohit and raina in the same over was crucial and that final over from radaba was very smart. Was clearing dhoni was struggling to clear the boundary with normal hits so going length was the right idea.

apart from that line agree with everything else. I would rather prefer someone like ashwin or even rahane raina over rohit!

Manjarekar is the doomsday guy..he did it for sachin as well for almost half a decade and finally it happens its almost like he wants it to happen and attracts it otherwise he doesn't have anything interesting to say right?

One thing i would say about MSD's career was the beast was never fully unleashed it was always there in a controlled form after the initial phase of his career while that served the team well i would have certainly like to see MSD play a more care free role taking on the bowling at will without worry about who's next..may be its not too late for that lets see.

Good knock by rohit though despite not being a fan of his. Rabbada certainly looks to be made of solid stuff the kid has got heart.

Dhoni's captaincy to me has declined way too much for him to continue being the leader in the shorter formats. Again as I have been saying, play him as a No.6 and keeper and relieve him of captaincy. Give it to Kohli and hope that Dhoni continues for some more time as purely a player till he hangs up his boots. This can be done right away and no need to wait until the end of World T20. A new captain taking over the side right now wont hurt us in a format like T20.

A full quota from Ashwin could have easily won this game for us. But can't do much about it.
