What Gangully had to say:
"We are fairly happy with what we ended up getting, we would have like maybe another 50 but that is a solid total. Now we will have to hope our bowlers go out and bowl tight. We want to have a lead after the first innings of at least 100, that would be very good and would take the pressure off our batsman."

(match report is on page 1)

The bowling in the first few overs was very poor, but the introduction of Nehra slowed down the scoring rate just a bit. Atapattu and Jayasuriya are heading to some big scores, while the bowlers are in for a long day.

Sri Lanka will be looking to to get within a few runs of India's score at stumps.

Sri Lanka set off just taking singles in the first few overs. Their first boundary of the session came 8.1 overs in the last session. India's first breakthrough was Atapattu who mistimed a cover drive. They passed the follow on mark, in the 52nd over. Nehra and Khan were the best bowlers, taking all 4 wickets between them.

Sri Lanka will be looking to pace their innings to try get that extra 146 runs to pass India's score, but the Indian bowlers will be looking to get a couple of wickets to get through to the tale and wrap up the innings.

good comeback from india, bit of a dissapointment that the spinners have only bowled 7 overs :(

Nehra's been a pain in the ass though, why does he have to be medium in game, hes really Medium Fast. I'm Glad that hardly any spinners have been played

This is turning out to be an excellent game fellas. I will hold on to the newer version a little longer, try to make batting harder in ODIs too. What do you guys reckon?
