Vaughan: We are very satisfied with our batting performance today. Once again it was an opening pair partnership of 193 runs which led us to score a good total. Trescothick played fantastic and showed how good of a batsman he is. On other hand, it?s good to see Solanki back in form once again. The game is yet to be over. We are aware how good Sri Lanka?s batting line up is and some early crucial wickets could really change the outcome of a match.

England 404/6 after 50 overs
Trescothick 181*, Solanki 99, Giles 47*
Gamage 3/72, Murali 2/71

Sri Lanka require 405 runs to win
Required run rate 8.10

Good Luck Squiz

SCORE UPDATE AT 20 OVERS, 2nd INNINGS
---------------------------------------------
Hugh first 20 overs for Sri Lanka with 188 runs being scored and only 1 wicket falling. They require 7.2 runs an over,
The score currently stands at 1/188.
S.Jayasuriya: 99* (61)
M.Atapattu: 51* (46)

Sri Lanka needed a good start, and that's what they got. 25 runs off the first 2 overs, including a few edges to the boundary. They brought their 50 up in just 5 overs. The 7th over was a beauty for Sri Lanka, with Jayasuriya hitting two 6's, two 4's, and a single each for the batsmen. Kaluwithara made 24 before being dismssed by Anderson. No spinners have been bowled yet, which will be the key in the latter stages of the match.

If Sri Lanka keep going at the current pace, it will be a tight finish at the end. Jayasuriya will be hoping to get his 2nd consecutive century in the next couple of overs.

SCORE UPDATE AT 30 OVERS, 2nd INNINGS
---------------------------------------------
Another good 10 over period for Sri Lanka, 72 runs scored, 2 wickets lost.
The score currently stands at 3/270.
S.Jayasuriya: 156* (101)
M.Jayawardene: 8* (14)

Some good stroke play, and luck with Jayasuriya being dropped got Sri Lanka to a commanding position.

Sri Lanka need 6.7 runs and over, which is very possible seeing the good position they are in.

SCORE UPDATE AT 40 OVERS, 2nd INNINGS
---------------------------------------------
85 Runs scored without the loss of a wicket, totally dominated by Sri Lanka
The score currently stands at 3/357.
S.Jayasuriya: 218* (137)
M.Jayawardene: 27* (38)

Jayawardene was the support act in this 10 over period, just pushing the singles, and letting Jayasuriya smash the English bowlers.

Australia only need 47 runs for victory and can just cruise to the 405 run total.

SCORE UPDATE AT END OF MATCH, 2nd INNINGS
---------------------------------------------
Only 50 runs were scored in the final 10 overs, but it was enough to get Sri Lanka over the line
The score finished at 5/407.
Batting Standouts:
S.Jayasuriya: 244* (168)
M.Atapattu: 57 (51)
M.Jayawardene: 28 (42)
R.Kaluwitharana:: 24 (18)
Bowling Standouts
A.Flintoff 2/69 (10.0 Overs)
A.Giles 1/39 (5.4 Overs)
R.Johnson: 0/26 (4.0 Overs)

Again Jayasuriya was the key to the Sri Lankan innings. He scored 60% of Sri Lanka's runs. This score goes hand in hand with the 171* that he made in the first match. He didn't place a foot wrong in both of the innings.

Sri Lanka will now play the winner of the Australia vs Zimbabwe match.
