Stories, scorecards, epic matches: screenshots, scorecards, stories: no vids please.

So finally finished the 2008 South Africa tour of England, started it in December last year, work got in the way sadly. Playing as England, it’s fair to say South Africa were the overall victors;

1 T20I - SA won by 4 wickets

1st ODI - SA won by 2 wickets
2nd ODI - SA won by 92 runs
3rd ODI - SA won by 19 runs (341 plays 322)

1st Test - Draw
2nd Test - SA won by 5 wickets
3rd Test - SA won by 3 wickets

Really enjoyable, scored a few 100s, but failing to register at least 1 win is a disappointing start to the campaign.

Learnt that the AI is very good at chasing. In the 2 tests they won they chased down over 300 and in the the drawn match it was probably only time that prevented them from winning as well, they were 112 for 2 chasing only 240 when day 5 ended.

Up next England welcome New Zealand (once I’ve finished creating them), but before then, enjoy some tour stats and pics....

ODI
Highest Score - Graeme Smith 156 (118)
Most Runs - Graeme Smith 178 (144)
BBI- Makhaya Ntini & Johan Botha 31-3

Test
Highest Score - Graeme Smith 144 (277)
100s - 10, Eng 5, SA 5
Most Runs - Graeme Smith 413 (671)
Most 100s - Kevin Pietersen & Graeme Smith 2
Most Wickets - Paul Harris 25
BBI - Paul Harris 32-7
BBM - Paul Harris 150-12

How did you get the jumper to have the V but not the shirt?

This was the end of the West Indies. 2pm on day 4

Hahahahaha maybe not then ! It would be great if the Windies gave you some declaration bowling to smash 400 and then set the, 300 to win haha! Although I don’t see that happening... I’d say winviz has put draw at least at 95% - be interesting to see if you go for it and try and smash a target out ...

Aye being 1-0 down I'd like to go for the win. Depending on how the wickets fall I'll decided how to play come Day 5

Why bother to draw when you can lose instead? I collapsed like a house of cards. Then tried as best I could to defend the small total. Basically by bowling spin outside of leg stump and hoping for bat pad catches. Would of worked too if it was for those pesky tail enders... 0-2. Must win at Trent Bridge20210208_203408.jpg

Quite a bit of trial and error, but used various patches of kit which were the same colour as the shirt. Choose the kit type that gives you the V, add your colours (the back and other parts will change colour) then use the patches to cover up. Then switch from shirt to jumper, moving the patches here and there until you’re happy enough with it. Only issue, which is probably minor, is the V on the back isn’t visible due to the patch. I have shared the South Africa team if you want to download it and dissect it.

I'll have a look at that aye. What name is it shared under?

Won my two tests in Sri Lanka. The first one was the closest test I've had yet though...England won by 5 runs.

Both teams batted averagely throughout. England scoring 287 in their first innings with my created player getting 30 before being done LBW by a yorker from Lakmal. I then got a grand total of 4 in the second innings.

Sri Lanka were actually looking good to chase down the 318 they needed to win. They were 287-5 and then collapsed completely. I bowled Mendis then Chandimal was unbelievably run out next ball as they went for a tight third run. Before I knew it they were 301-8 and just couldn't sneak over the line with the tail.

After a poor showing against South Africa England welcome New Zealand to town.

NZ will go up against South Africa in a T20 warm up (simulated) before taking on England in 2 T20 matches, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests.

Youngsters Ross Taylor and Tim Southee tour England for the first time, whereas in the England camp Andrew Flintoff is set to play no part in the hope that he will be fit for the winter tour to India and the Ashes in 2009.

More to follow...

England v New Zealand NatWest T20 Series

NZ began their tour with a T20 warm up match against South Africa, who had just finished their own tour against England. It was a match I simulated, but it looked like a gooden, SA chasing down 180 with a ball to spare.

On to the main event a few days later and it was Old Trafford that played host to the first of 2 T20 matches.

Dan Vettori won the toss and chose to field, a decision that certainly seemed like a good one at the half way stage, restricting England to just 134. Kevin Pietersen top scoring for me with 38.

In reply Ryan Sidebottom picked up a wicket in the powerplay and from that moment on, New Zealand struggled to build any momentum.

I brought my spinners into the attack early on and it proved to be a good move, Graeme Swann with 2 wickets, one of which Brendon McCullum and Samit Patel with career best figures (and mine in T20) of 6-22.

It was enough to leave the New Zealand chase all but over and in just the 17th over Stuart Broad wrapped things up. All out for just 96.

England 1-0 up (my first win in 8 games) with 1 to play, next up, Edgbaston.
