2-0 up in The Ashes and with Australia at 252-5 at 5:45pm on Day 4, I thought we were heading for my first drawn test on the game.

Been utter chaos since. England are a bag of nerves at lunch on Day 5.

The Grubbers have moved onto Sri Lanka and having a bad time in Colombo...

Embuldenyia ran through us on a hard, dusty pitch with good support from Matthews. The latter then hit a fifty with a bat along with Karunaratne to give Sri Lanka a very healthy 143 run lead. Mark Watt bowled very well and Ports was his normal self. I think Sri Lanka were about par so we're really behind the 8 ball here. Could this be Ravi's first test defeat?

End of Day 2 of this first test and well... tailor made for Nick innit.

Pujara is skating on some thin ice but other than that it's been a decent run of a second innings. At least longer than the first if slower.

56 runs adrift. Still behind the ol' 8 ball but not as bad as it was...

Crazy match. Scores were level with 8 down, then I lost Broad. Didn't score for another 3 overs until Buttler hit the winning 4.

Haha thanks, I must have subconsciously wanted to win with Leach at the other end!

Woakes even hit 83 in the first innings

Day 3 ended with England firmly in control. Only Aravinder seems to have bothered getting off the plane...

What followed was 2 wickets in 2 balls from the 1st over of the day. Hissing Sid taking those and one other to complete and impressive 5fer. England left needing 50 to win, was never in doubt despite the fact I wanted my tea so decided I would whack them out asap.20210304_175043.jpg

England end the summer with a win, and we're packing the bags for a 3 match winter series in New Zealand. Can't be bad can it?
