Hopefully we can start getting some real stories up and running again. I only see a couple at the moment. With the quality of stories going on atm, my story looks like one of the best.

It's great to have suren back in these forums now.

That should say low quality btw. tbh, I don't think mine is that great but compared to the ones at the moment, it's reasonable.

Was just going through the hall of fame thread and I noticed something very surprising. Gamer didn't win Yearly award for his story, I'm completely surprised. And, also we have Story of the Month stories there, so we might well also have Story of the Quarter thing? Might do good for acknowledge.

Yeah that was completely surprising and also I am surprised to see Gamer's story ranked 10 in the Hall of Fame list. I guess he should be up in the top three. An yeah the SOTQ should also be in Hall of Fame.

There is no ratings/ranking system for any stories. Let me know if there is any mention of the ratings, I will remove it.

Stories are there to enjoy and we need to enjoy reading rather than introducing ranking system. This is not a serious competition or a contest for the reminder. That's why I have said in few SOTM threads - Just for fun!

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I need some help with my WWII story.

First of all I need names for the characters. So if people could suggest about 10 American/British names that were common in the 40s.

Also, I need some help in finding out what the ranking system is in the British military. Is it the same as the Americans?

I've also decided to just use random names from WWII movies/games unless any of you guys want to be characters.

One suggestion for SOTQ nominations and SOTM nominations:

I'd like to give a bit of feedback on the existing system of SOTM nomination thing. As the winners are being nominated even for the next month, I'd suggest to stop it. Cause there is no meaning if the winners are being nominated and they win it again and again frequently (It happened for just cricket once and I'm sure this will repeat for User2010 and Shantanu's story). What we can do is apply our old rule of SOTM (User 1 wins SOTM for Story A in Xth month. User 1 won't get nominated for Story B in X+1th month but he can be nominated for story B after X+1th month & story A after X+2th month.) and the winners and runners of the three SOTM's automatically get nominated as SOTQ, provided that story is active at the time of SOTQ.

At the end of the day, its just a suggestion.

Can I say something despite being a normal user?

Why the stories shouldn't be nominated back to back? If they deserve it, they should be. No point in less deserved story winning the competition. And, I don't know why SOTQ stories be those which won SOTM. There can be a story which never won SOTM but goes on to win SOTQ. Go Tigers Go! is a top of my head example.

There is actually a lot of thought put behind nomination of SOTQ stories. And, one thing is for sure only the deserving stories are nominated and hopefully deserving stories win.
