Only three stories eh?
Get in either your story or my story in.

Cause it gets boring if you see only 3 stories fighting for SOTM and many unfair stories have been put in previously, to make the competition better.
Get in as many as you can cause SOTM, after SOTQ has come, doesn't have great significance.
So, no problem if you put stories which have started recently. And even, some rules like "The one who won the SOTM in Xth month cannot participate in X+1st month" have been stuck off, but why does only that rule alone carry (on the age of the story)?

I'm not going to stick in mine or yours, as they've only been going for a month.
We won't to encourage long jevity of stories, not just one or two month wonders.
There was no SOTM last month, so all stories can participate.

Can you please elaborate about what you mean to say there? And, I think those are the top 3 stories at this moment so they only deserve to be there. Both yours or CG's stories are relatively new and difficult to vote for.

Either follow the old rules and do SOTQ. Or let it be no limits for SOTM (Like getting in newer stories). As SOTQ is more significant than SOTM, give some lenience to new stories, which promise to be big ones (all qualities must be taken into consideration) in SOTM is what I feel

Yea, next month I would like my story to be considered, even though it would only have been going for a month by then. I'll probably still have at least 20 decent sized updates, and 10000 words or something. tbh I think you should add yours in Callum, because it's a good story and a month and a half is still quite a long period of time.

Check out some SOTM's where Suren Bhai clearly said that "If the competition goes only in 3 (Edit: sorry, he actually said 2) stories, it'd be unfair".

Logically thinking, he should have added only 1 and make it three, but he added two stories, to make it 4. (Of course, the one from Wanderers was added later)

And what actually I meant was SOTM is just like ICL when IPL (SOTQ) came up.

And yes, I shouldn't have used the word "unfair" rather "New" could have done the job.

If we allow stories in who've been running for less than a month, people will update several times with great updates, win story of the month, and then stop their stories.
This is actually what some people have done in the past.
I'm trying to set an example, and say my story hasn't been going long enough, so it doesn't deserve to be nominated, therefore I've just ignored every story that has been going for less time than mine.
Is this fair, or not?

Binnu your story has been going for 20 days, and you have only just started the first match, sorry but it just hasn't been going for long enough.

It's true about people updating frantically, then winning SOTM and stopping

So, if that is the case (of following previous rule on nominating stories), why don't you follow it completely (A story should not be nominated for two months if it wins a SOTM)?

SOTQ needs some points right.

/end discussion from my side.
I'm happy with those three and if you follow the olden rule on nomination of stories, mine/yours won't get nominated.
But rethink of Hong Kong one. Cos its not being updated since couple of weeks.

It's been updated regularly for a few months now.
If you read the thread he said, "I'm back from holiday so expect I revised edition of the last part within the next few days".

As there are very few quality stories that have been running for a decent length of time ATM, we could always skip out another month, and start fresh in the beginning of July???

The only problem with this is JC and Aditya wouldn't be too pleased, I don't think.

Don't want to sound precious, but tbh I don't think that would be fair. Aditya particularly has put in some amazing efforts in the last month, and I think it would be unfair to deny him the chance to stand just because no other stories are good enough to give him competition...

I have no problem if we skip this month. There aren't much stories included this month so that takes a bit of fun from the SOTM in my opinion. If we skip one month and have SOTM next month then we can have some very good stories included. User is busy but he will continue his story at the end of this month I guess, MaD is conducting a league so hopefully he will be back as well. That will make sure that all the best stories going around will be included next month. So that will make sure that next months SOTM turns out to be a good one.
