Montys problem is not so much his, more of the command of the coach.

Every ODI spinner for England under Fletch has bowled 55+ on a consistent basis, barring the odd exception (Ie, Vaughan). Monty seems a little apprehensive in ODIs too.

As a spinner, if you want wickets, bowl it slower, if you want to contain the runs, bowl it faster.

Since Monty is the closest thing to an attacking option that England have, he needs to slow it down in the event that wickets are required.

i think Duncan Fletcher is really holding Monty back if you try to take wickets and are sucessful that will stem the run rate in itself he really has not put alot of thought into his coaching
