im pretty sure Warne's ball was the ball of the century
U aussies make such a hype bout anything.I am sure that the great indian spinners -Bedi,Prassanna,Maninder,Venkat,Chandrasekhar bowled better bowls than that. But nothing was special bout that because Indian spinners are expected to do well. Also media at that time was not used to creating such a hype. But for an aussie spinner that's an great achievement.
The situation is similar with Indian pacers.

i searched in Google: "Ball of the Century" cricket

All that came up was Shane Warne's ball of the Century to Mike Gatting spinning from outside leg to hit the top of off stump.

Bedi was a great bowler....

Chandra was a very good bowler...thou` not as good as macgill(Compare the stats ;) )

Prassana and venkat were steady bowlers....thou i woudn`t put them in the same class as a GREAT offspinner ( like Jim Laker for example)

Maninder singh??? A great bowler?? DON`T think so ( look at the average!!)

Macgill is a super bowler,so is murali and Kumble(in India)

Havn`t seen enough of price of zimbabwe or kaneria of pakistan(Saqlain was a good bowler....shame he can`t get a game at the mo`)

no hype just facts ( In fact the country i would like to see producing good quality spinners is england...Giles is ok (ish) away from home but he struggles in england....batty and croft havn`t got it...schofield hasn`t made progress at all....very sad ;(

When Warne comes back there will be NO question about who the greatest spinner in the world is...

PS I was at old trafford when warne bowled THAT ball to Mike gatting...

I doubt i`ll EVER see a ball that will have a greater effect on a team ( England psyched out against warne for ten years after that...

i think it will still be muli...put him anywhere and he does good....muli is on 485 wickets while warne is 491...what is interesting is thye meet each other in the same series and it is in Lanka....so it will be interesting

Also Chiraz me friend stats tell half the story, u can only judge imran khan to a certian extent with stats....he just didnt have stats but he had heart, commitment and a great brain....but how can stats tell u he has heart and commitment or techinque

and manider singh may not be a good spinner but he is a lovley commentator, did anyone see the tvs cup final? i remeber one commentator, i think it was manider, he kept yelling andd getting mad at laxman for dropping catches, it was quite funny

yes i agree but i`ve seen a LOT of cricket...

Imran was the greatest allrounder of the 1980`s btw ;)

andrew keep to the subject and dont be such a hypacrite about keeping to the subject if you cant do it your self.
