I'd say XP Professional was better than 98 SE. XP Home isn't really that good.
What are the main differences between XP home and pro?

I'm not sure on the exact technical differences, but Pro seems to be a lot more stable than Home. It's designed primarily for the businees environment and hence, it has to be more stable. I've been using it for just over a year now, and I haven't had a single crash. (Apart from those caused by the lethal combination of Cricket 2002 and my GeForce4 graphics card :D )

I have had both XP home and XP Pro, but XP Home seems to eat up quite a lot of resources than the Pro version. And as Andrew stated the stability factor is missing, plus that XP Home has some compatibility issues, not to mention the security bugs.

So, the Pro version is way better than XP Home.

Windows ME is the worst version of Windows. It has a ridiculous amount of compatibility errors, and crashes even more than 95.
don't say that andrew my computer rens much faster after installation of win me....

and it has never had any serious problems as well.......
