Suggestions for next Bas Cricket game

in match profile.png

I threw together a quick mock up of my idea. Similar to having a profile you can bring up which I have touted in the past.

Bascially, when you're playing in a match you can pull up a profile of any player and review their information.

I figured it'd be cool to give it a bit of flair so why not have it in the form of a tablet, which you can navigate to get bits of information.

You can look at different sets of data.

Personality - the basic stuff (probably what is actually shown on there)
Technical skills - look at a technical breakdown of the skills - this could have sub sections for batting, bowling and fielding.
Mental skills - same as above but for mental skills, this is where I think the game could do with expanding more.

This 'Insights' section would be where I think you can identify specific strengths, weaknesses, preferences, little nuggets of information that can help.

Perhaps the amount of 'insights' or information might vary. If you're playing a career mode you get very little information about your opposition (but you can, over time in the match, unlock little bits) whereas when you're playing at the highest level you get a full range of information as most teams would have about opposition players these days.

You could have long-term insights; which a player has permanently and then short-term insights that are perhaps related to form, confidence. The short-term ones could perhaps be assigned at random before each game (so you get it in Play Now) or be something that comes up and develops over a tournament or through phases of a career mode. Example; David Warner is weak against RFM around the wicket mixed with a permanent weakness on grassy pitches. Doesn't mean he will always get out that way but makes him weaker to that kind of attacking approach.

I would like to write a bit more in depth about skills etc that I think would be useful and may do that in a seperate thread to allow for a more broad discussion without taking this thread off on a tangent.

Be able to set player numbers like you could in Cricket 07 so a player could have different depending on which team they play for and the ability to change the player numbers for the licenced player's, as for some reason after downloading teams and players on my game it has affected some of the player numbers for example Chris Woakes is meant to 19 but for some reason he is 93

Features to be added or improved for next edition:

  • Contract Management especially like in IPL, County to make move of players between Teams.
  • Injury of a player during matches if it hits on head etc.
  • Misfields can added like partially hitting the hand or legs and ball getting diverted.
  • Removing Sliders completely from the game.
  • Game should only work on physics of attributes from player skill, edging the bat should be based on the point of contact , distance of ball travelled should be purely based on bolwers pace & batsman strength with outfields into consideration.
  • Game should be driven 100% based on Players skill only and the nature of the ground. (as per ideal world)
  • Remove Difficulty levels, your difficulty levels will decide based on player skill.
  • Example: If you are playing a Club match (an average of players level will be around 50-60) so difficulty automatically will be easy , County match (an average of players skill level will be around 70) so difficulty automatically will be medium, IPL match (an average of players skill level will be around 70 - 80) so difficulty automatically will be Hard and finally International Cricket match (an average of players skill level will be around 80-100) so difficulty automatically will be Hardest or Legend.
  • Even in International match based on players skills team strength should be defined. Ex: Bangladesh will average less than India or Australia because they all have 70 - 80 skill level players compared with 90+ skilled players.
  • Bottom line is players skill should be the driver of the game and sliders should be eliminated completely or an option to switch-off.
  • An option to configure each ground with the nature of the ground, pitch , outfields etc like WACA seamer friendly, Mumbai Spin friendly.

Removing Sliders completely from the game.
Not removed but they could be worked on a bit more to fit a specific game play e.g. sliders for each length where the bowler balls e.g. you can change how many good lengths short lengths are bowled.
Middling and edging sliders.
Bowlers pace.
The no ball and wide slider.
Sliders can be fun and useful if done properly like Fifa.

One should be able to be knighted! :cheers

Hmm it would Ashed 21 then, no game for t20 worldcup

Why would they? They wouldn't get all licences anyway, this is a small - medium sized company. They only have Aus, Eng (international only) licences as it stands.

Care to source the image? ie: the link to where you got this. Just from the looks of it, fan made for fun and purely for speculation as to what the new game will be in a year or two. FYI: God help us if 2k ever got their slimy hands on cricket.

Either way, it would cost $10 for tattoos, VC to "upgrade" players and in 2K's case, a stupid neighbourhood system with emotes lol.
I think it's Dead or Alive 6, not sure who publishes, that until recently (after outcry) was charging to change hair colour of your character.

Whatever issues there are with the C19, kudos for BA for steering clear of this kind of thing. It'd be easy to add and would probably help the bottom line but, personally, I think it's just not cricket.
