Story Super Test Series

India vs. Aus @ Kolkata

India didnt get off to a very good start, losing Sehwag early to a brilliant delivery from the youngster Inness - India 1/22. Tendulkar and Gambhir pushed the total on to 48 before Gambhir fell to McGrath leg before wicket. Tendulkar was showing glimpses of the form he displayed in his majestic innings of 90 against England. Dravid strode to the crease and immediately played his most aggressive stroke - the back foot block. 12 runs later and Dravid was walking back the pavilion, caught behind off a brilliant delivery from McGrath. India had struggled to 3/60. Tendulkar and Ganguly, the two batsmen in form were at the crease.

A lot of runs later and Ganguly was out. A great knock of 40 from him pushed India onto 4/152. Tendulkar looked in fine touch, driving and pulling balls from Inness, Warne and McGrath. Laxman combined with tendulkar for a small partnership before being clean bowled by Inness, the youngster picking up his second wicket. India were 5/177. Dhoni strode to the crease, only to watch Tendulkar depart soon after; falling to a slower Warne delivery. India were struggling to post a decent total. They were 6/196. Dhoni and Kumble tried to combine, but Kumble failed; India 7/204. Harbhajan and Dhoni showed resistance, but India were eventually bundled out for 233.

Second day coming soon.

India vs. Aus @ Kolkata

First hour - 11:00AM
Australia 0/9
Langer 9*
Hayden 0*

Langer and Hayden make their way out onto the pitch to begin the second day - 224 runs behind India. An interesting day is certain to follow. If Australia loses several quick wickets, India will be on top, but if they survive and begin to score quickly, a declaration could be on the cards.

Here are the highlights from the first hour:

Day 2
First hour - 11:00AM to 12:00PM
Aus: 0/58
Langer 33*
Hayden 20*

An interesting first innings, with several brilliant shots from both Langer and Hayden. A massive edge from Hayden was brilliantly caught at second slip, but a no-ball meant that it was not out. Five no-balls were bowled in the first hour, most from Zaheer. The wicket off a no-ball proved could prove very costly. Sachin Tendulkar bowled the last over of the hour, and he is bowling in tandem with Harbhajan, aiming for the rough patches. It should be an interesting hour before the lunch break. Second Day
Lunch
Australia 0/151
Langer 67*
Hayden 78*

The session belonged to Australia. Fours were hit off many balls in the last five overs, as Harbhajan and Tendulkar began bowling bad deliveries as they tired before lunch. Hayden and Langer capitalised on these balls and hammered them to the boundary. Both are within spitting distance of their centuries.

Australia are in a strong position. Hayden and Love will look to combine for a massive partnership, and take Australia to at least 350 before one of them falls. Stay tuned for the next session.

yea ashu...for some reason this match was almost mirroring the ashes match - huge opening partnership, langer plays on, then hayden gets century...weird...
