Surrey - Time for a change.

The Surrey cricket team have decided it is time for a change after they made their way to division 2 in both forms of the game. Surrey started their quest for success by hiring a new coach Matt_FB who they took from New Zealand. The New Zealand cricket team were not happy with his early proformances and his lack of effort to show up to trainings or be invovled in the team. New Zealand hired this great man as their Coach, Selector and statitician as Surrey have taken their lead in doing the same. "It's going to be a real boost in the players confidence getting such a great influence like Matt in our team" said the expeirenced Ramprakash. "I cant wait to get started with Surrey and i hope i can soon get choosen to coach England"

The start of the new beginning.
19 Apirl 2006.

I walk into the dressing room at Derbyshire. "Sorry im late boys" i say sheepishly. "Dont worry Stephen Fleming warned us this would happen" stated the cheeky Mark Butcher. "Alright boys listen up" I say getting everys mind off my past coaching experience. "Their are many fans out their who are dissapointed we got down here and we need give them something back for coming out here and supporting us". "Each and every one of us should be 100% determined to win this as stage 1 of our quest to the top". "Believe in yourself and your team-mates". "Alright Ramprakash go out and do the toss" I said after my speech.
Everyone sat quiet and thought about what they have to do. Salisbury was injured for 6 days before the game and was healed just a few days ago and not fully fit so he had to sit out. Hes come to watch the boys which is good.

Ramprakash called Heads and lost the toss.

We got put into bat so Newman and Batty padded up and made their way out. I am very tense.

I got the Zimbabwe job because I had England unbeaten in every possible series on ICC01 and held it for like 20 years!

Can yours really be so bad?

No i started a New Zealand story on ICC 06 and played 2-3 games but then couldn't update or play cuz of exams and now i just started a new one.

Even Start
Derbyshire vs Surrey. Day 1 session 1.

Newman got us onto the front foot from ball one with a boundaray. That helped ease the nerves for both batsmen as they steadily made their way to a 74 run partnership:

Newman and Batty could be a lethal opening partnership for Surrey in the county championship. With Newman averaging 44.50 with a high score of 219 and Batty a average of 32 with 168* a high score. With Batty the rock and as solid as they get he put on a convincing 26 off 72 letting Newman have the spotlight as he made his way to a fifty until Batty got bowled from Simon Jones to end a great 74 run opening partnership which could have been a dangerous if not extinguished when it was.

Ramprakash came out to bat at first drop to contuine the momentum of the opening partnership....

Ramprakash is an experienced English cricketer with great knowledge of the first drop position. With an average of nearly 50 in first class cricket with a high score of 279* and 79 hundreds theres no denying this guy is one of the best at the county level. Over 26 thousand runs proves this. Newman was hungry for a 50 which he completed with the skipper there to encourage him.
A solid 51 partnership was built until Ramprakash was caught by Pipe bowled Dean.

Brown came out and faced 3 balls for no runs and the first session was redemed over.

Can Newman get his hundred?
I sat him down for a chat when he came in to tell him to not try and be to agressive straight after the break. It will be a great start for his season if he can get a hundred.

hmm... all build ups on Ramprakash went in vain for having dismissed for 20.. Unlucky!

Dramatic Collapse
Surrey vs Derbyshire. Day 1 session 3.
I am shocked. Peeved off and dissapointed. I never want to see that fan again! As i walked ou of the dressing room after the first session a fan yelled out to me a dramatic collapse under 200. I laughed it off but now regret it after getting bowled out for 219.

The two players, Newman and Brown came out after the first session. After my chat with Newman i gave him some time to eat and rest so he can contuine on with his start. It started badly though with Brown departing much earlier than any Surrey fan wanted. The 3rd wicket was lost as Brown departed for 3 after getting bowled by Dean.

Butcher came out but what can i say rather than he went back no slower. Two balls after Brown left Butcher didn't help matter by going for a duck. Dean the wicket, caught and bowled.

Clarke and Benning went in together and the score lagged at 6-175.

One great thing did arise today and that was the achievements of Scott Newman as he powered his way to a hard fought Hundred.
This hundred came off 152 and featured many great shots.

Many more wickets fell without harm for Derbyshire.

Pfft lets hope the bowling is better.
