T20 World Cup 2024 (West Indies/USA)

Good start for South Africa, two early wickets.

WI cannot get through I feel. Even a win wont be enough with the score they currently have on board. They will need SA to collapse spectacularly to 50 all out if they want to progress.

Ind v SA
Eng v Afg

Likely semi-finalists, IMO

Wouldn't it be:

Ind (A1) vs Eng (B2)
SA (B1) vs Afg (A2)

SA wont pip England unless they chase this down in 7-8 overs. Can't see England coming down to B2. While SA might make a mockery of this chase and may eventually lose the game too, don;t see them going past the English.

If SA wins today, they will end with 6 points (top position). Why would NRR matter then?

- For West Indies to surpass England's NRR, they need to win by 52+ runs against South Africa (after scoring 160 batting first).

So. This is the equation for the WI, should they wish to progress to the next level.

You are right! I have mis-read the points, thought SA was on 2.

Last time there were 3 hat-tricks in the World Cup, England took the honours. They are looking dangerous, especially Buttler. By the current looks of it, their road to the finals should be an easy one- perennial chokers India followed by SA/Afg (should Afg beat Ban)

Well well well.

2 down now for South Africa.

SA need to drop Reeza Hendricks. Not contributing at all with the bat. The problem is there's no one else they can use as a back-up unless they are willing to let Markram open with QDK. An off-field option could be the inclusion of Rickelton as an opener, if they wish to safe guard Markram.

Stubbs can be a better Opener with QDK...
