TEST CH'SHIP POINTS>>>>>>

After a lot of deliberation I came to agreement with sachida that teams will be awarded points in the championship as follows:

test match win = 6 points
test match draw = 2 points each
test series win bonus = 6 points
test series draw bonus = 3 points each

The reason a test series draw recieves more than a test match draw is that drawing a series has far more significance as it represents two teams being on an equal footing, but their can be a number of implications for drawing a single test match. Also, awarding 2 points only for a drawn match will encourage teams to go for the win rather than settle for a draw.

I just think you should have less points if you win a match then a series. But you could do this too: if you win the first match of a test series eg.consisting of two tests, you get 6 points but if you don't win the next test you don't get any points for winning the series if the test you didn't win was a draw.

Auwais,
That makes it complicated. We need something fair and simple. I think sonic has got it right.

auwais, the only reason i included points in the first place for a series win was to ensure that their was a bigger gap between teams winning series' and those that don't. If I made the points for a win smaller then it would mean that teams who won matches but not necessarily a series would make ground on the sides who win a series - which is far more significant. Me and sachida have discussed this at length trust me, this is the best and fairest system as it distances the winners and losers, which is how it should be, and keeps things really competitive...thanks for your comments anyway :band:
