Test Cricket tweak

Ravi,
Playing a Test with your latest files; excellent stuff. On a dry wicket (day one), Eng (me, surprise surprise!!) were skittled out by SA for 156. SA in reply are 164/4, just after lunch on day 2. An uphill battle for me then !
Just one thing; in 1 and a half tests using your files I haven't been able to bowl a single cpu batsman out. Is it possible with this patch? If so, I'll keep on trying!!

i think that mani gamer might be on to something, when the CPU play a cut shot and get an edge it always freezes up.
myabe a file is missing?

i have been playing a 5 match test series (well just started)
as England vs South Africa
first test is on a normal pitch and i lost the toss and got sent in.
i am struggling at 71/3 after 20
i think that maybe the normal pitch is assisting the bowlers too much, what used to be an even wicket now is not.
the ball cuts of the seam a mile, nearly as much as the green pitch, maybe you could lower that a tad.

also Jonah, do you have an updated England .ctm?
or does anyone? If so could i have it please?

Ravi, This match sure is a challenge .
The game hasn't locked up yet, and no out batsmen have had a reprieve so far . More edges to the keeper would be good, but not in addition to the amount of edges we already have, otherwise there may be too many edges?

I have checked again and no missing file or anything of that sort found. The score seems pretty realistic to me Tim what with playing as England (apologies Jonah). With my previous patches I noticed that the slower ones were simply easy to hit and infact rather than restricting the batsman from scoring, it gave an easy opportunity to score off them. Keeping this in mind I increased the seam for faster bowlers when they bowl slower thereby to keep the batsman guessing. As in a test match you will not need to score runs in a jiff, you have to defend quite a bit hence I suggest you play with this set for few days and see how it goes. If its challenging for a longer length, its better I suppose : .

Jonah, the edges will be fine tuned a bit but will not be increased. Its very pleasing to know the umpires are in good form in your game and also the game not freezing :dbg: ? Are you in a dream land or something B) ? Enjoy the game mate; do keep us posted on the scores. I am thinking if it would be better to have a new topic in the records section or something to post our scores????

Ravi, looks like I spoke too soon . Got the wicket of McKenzie, Boucher's first ball, the game freezes as he plays backfoot defensive. That means Mckenzie's had a reprieve .

I was wondering if it's something to do with the different exes, as it doesn't seem to happen when I'm batting (using bat.exe). Maybe there's a string missing in the bowl.exe or something?
What would need amending to use the bat.exe to bowl with (to get the cursor to appear). Is anything else different between the 2 exes? That way, we could check if it is bowl exe that is causing the problem.

Really sorry its screwed up your bowling effort, I very well know how frustrating it can really be. I will take this cue from you and will figure out if there is any issue with the bowling exe. Meanwhile there is not much change I can recall between the bat.exe and bowl.exe, maybe you can try using the bat.exe. Let me know if that fixes the issue; I will then recreate bowl.exe file from scratch, it doesnt take much effort.

If I use bat exe to bowl Ravi, the cursor disappears, even though I still use the bowling configs. What values need changing in the exe to make the cursor reappear?

So any updates guys while I was getting rid of that virus on my PC?I've noticed when doing the late cut,it always takes a bottom edge and goes back through the batsma's legs and to a fielder. :blink:

The game froze when I was batting, using bat.exe, and when I used an older bat.exe you sent me once Ravi, before this freezing started. So maybe it's not the exes after all...
