Friends how about test match under lights with white ball, it will bring more interest to the game.

also the conditions change after 5 pm in evening and there is also lots of interest. whats ur views friends.

i think the the ICC can try it in Super Series going to be Played between AUS and World XI

Wont the players get tired? or will they have a break, Dinner Break in between? :D They would have to make the matches 3 -4 days long then

Mate personally i think it wont be draining its similat to odi were 100 overs are played in a day.

2.30 to 4.30
5.15 t0 7.15
8.00 to 10.00

i dont think it will demand that much from the players. i think more crowds can be attracted and heat factor will be minimized though. just my view friends

Maybe its a good idea, but this is probably not high on the ICC's list of things to do. It'll also tamper with the traditions of the game. The breaks are called Lunch and Tea for a reason. Although now it's all energy drinks and nutritious food, the people who started test cricket did enjoy lunch and tea between the games. So maybe. If indeed it is initiated, some time, I would start the game later. The D/N fixtures usually go well-past 11:00 PM.

So:
1st Session - 4:00 to 6:00
2nd Session - 6:40 to 8:40
3rd Session - 9:00 to 11:00

There are many other factors that will make it very, very different. Depends on whether those involved in cricket want to take such a big step. At least bowlers may gain some sort of an advantage. But then there is the dew factor. Too many factors to control, I feel.

i would look at playing test cricket indoors (eg at colonial stadium or whatever its called.. docklands in crikcet2004). that way we wouldnt have rain delays and it could be played whenever, not matter what the season is.

You couldn't play a test match at the Telstra Dome (docklands) during winter as there is already so much stress on it from footy.
I think that it would be nice to test out night tests... one a year in Aus would be nice

They tried it out in World Series Cricket back in the late 70s. (Sorry to Fardin but cricket does have a history prior to the 80s)

It's one of the few innovations that the ICC didn't use from WSC. I'd like to see it, but they need to sort out the problem of the white ball behaving differently to the red ball.

Once they can sort out that problem, I'd like to see all tests played in coloured clothing with a white ball, day/night or not.

May be it could be tried in domestic cricket first.

Champ why did u make the pole with multiple options?

wouldnt it be hard to pick up the red ball under lights when your batting?

I feel it would be good.
I've seen some test matches under lights(due to bad light in Kolataka & other Indian stadiums they had use floodlights-the sun setted early & also there were clouds)
It was good watching but don't know how the players find it to play.

ont think that day-night test matches would be an option................but im all for using floodlights because players come off if theres a cloud over the ground these days.......Just use the floodlights so that you can get 90 overs in a day and then everybodys happy

I remember them trying 4-day day/night matches in Aussie domestic cricket a little while back, people enjoyed it, but the idea kind of faded.
