hey Pingusten - can you explain how you managed to make the AI not open w. the spin bowlers in the tests even though you didnt drop the spinners ratings? and what abt the field settings - is this related to the attributes somehow?

you mentioned you just dropped the power rating for the batsman..anything else?? -thx

Well it seems to me that the spinners attributes don't have to be changed. My own theory is that the computer takes into account the batsmans stats somehow, but tbh I think by hitting the right batsmans stats, I fluked it a bit!!

The field settings seem also to be linked to the batsman. I did some research about where they placed the field in relation to the batsman with my patch and then without it.

I found that the higher the batsmans power (of course very high in the original config), the more fielders the AI packed into the boundary. This of course meant that Freddie Flintoff came onto strike and they'd all start standing on the boundary, generally aknowledged as a bug.

With the lowered power attribute however, they seem to bring players closer in on the batsman. At one point, i had a silly point off Shane Bond, and was caught bad pad, trying to go for a drive that wasn't there because the field was so tight.

To put it bluntly, I think the game uses the batmans attributes to set its fields depending on power.

I don't think they take in the situation of the game though, which is a bit dissapointing.

For everyone else, I will be uploading an ODI fix tomorrow evening. I'm going through a lot of testing today.

Hey Pinguesten i didnt use ur config yet tho i changed the settings to like 40-50 for various settings and got a pretty realistic match. Here is my first innings:

Yes the run rate is round 5 but it was very tough and this was my first time playing in this mode so i was still trying to hammer at the start but once i lost wickets i had to play very carefully and it was srsli hard. This game is much better now.

pingusten can u any news about your new ODI configs, I am eagerly awating to test them in ODIs.

Didn't realise it was so in demand :D

Anyway, Il do last testing today, and HOPEFULLY i should be able to upload it late afternoon.

If not, it will probably be tomorrow night.

Kinda hit and miss as I have an exam tomorrow

I've just downloaded this and started a test league with Kenya. My first game was against Ireland and I batted first which seemed alright although it was over in about 27 overs because of stupid run outs - I got 135 in the end. Ireland though were out for 14 within 4 overs, I just put a bit swing on the ball and bowled a lot of them out and a few lbws. Quite annoying, I was playing on test level and I did have the bowling reticule on so do you recommend turning this off for more realistic matchups?

I'm gonna play one more game now with the reticule on but against Sri Lanka so hopefully they won't collapse like Ireland

If you're finding the CPU to easy to bowl out I recommend using auto play when you're not batting, from experience the AI should make a reasonable total 9/10 times.

Pingusten any news about the news about the new ODI configs, when are u going to upload them

OK guys im stealing time here so il make it quick.

I will have to release the ODI set up tomorrow night, becuase of problems with exams today.

But it will be up by tomorrow.

(Hopefully. Everything is going wrong at the moment. :( )

no hurries mate!! focus on your exams first :)

Right, an update on the current situation.

I tested on Wednesday my version of the config, and found some faults that have made me have to rethink everything.

I think that now the official patch is a no-no, everyone creating these sort of things have to get it right to make sure that people at least get some enjoyment out of there purchase.

I wont release anything that isn't ready, but I am hard at work at the moment.

Can't give an exact date for a release, but i can tell you that the AI Australia made 238-7 in 50 overs earlier with me actually bowling at them.

I'l keep testing, as i'm as cheesed off as everyone else at Codemasters.

Good to hear that your making progress that score looks mighty promising!

Not trying to push you or anything Pingusten, with the exams and all, but making any progress on an ODI patch? If not could you tell me the values you used for the Australia match so I could edit the game myself?

yes Pingusten I am also looing forward for the values you have used so that I can also test those values, will be great if you can post the batting and bowling values for us to test.

Many thanks all the best for your exams!!!!
