I like Emirates/Lufthansa. I dislike Air France and Northwest for the most part.

Air France is terrible!

I got stuck in Paris because of them. My flight to Paris (from Chicago) was delayed by an hour, and when we landed we had half an hour or so till boarding for the next flight to Chennai.

Because boarding had already started, the genius Air France people deemed that we had already 'missed our flight'. So they would not even let us leave the terminal to get food, water, or even the bathroom. There weren't even chairs in the terminal, just a few pay phones that we used to call people in India and tell them about the situation. We later found that it had cost us over $250 in just those pay phones! (International calling in times of distress = :noway).

The options given from the idiot Air France people were to either BUY a BUSINESS CLASS TICKET to BANGALORE ("We may refund the cost") and then take a connecting flight to Chennai (no refunds), or buy a ticket to go back to Chicago. The next flight to Bangalore was in three days, the next flight to Chicago in 12 hours.

We decided to go back, after 12 hours of torture in a boiling hot, uncomfortable terminal. The cost of the ticket was $7,900 each! (Three of us) (Was thankfully refunded, or I would have been saying bye bye to a year of college :p)

Our bags were lost, over a couple thousand dollars in valuables just gone. The computers said that they were in Italy, how on earth did they get there?

Moral of the story = Air France sucks.

I know your experience was paistaking Cricketman, But that doesn't neccesarily mean that the whole Airline is bad, Just a bad day...

Avoid Heathrow if possible. Two years in a row now, those idiots have temporarily lost our damn luggage!

Sanjay, the service these people provided to Cricketman speaks for itself.

I am starting to doubt European Airlines now...I have always though highly of Airlines in the Gulf such as Emirates and Gulf Airways. I wonder if European airlines can live up to the same expectations.

The next year we went on Air France (simply because they gave us some tickets for the whole situation last year) and our gate for the flight was up in the dome area. It was on the roof of the airport, a glass dome like thing covered it...

Anyways, it was like a greenroom in there. The temperature outside was a good 80 degrees, and on top of that the heat getting intensified by going through the glass. Would've reached 95 degrees for sure!

Our flight was delayed by seven hours! Technical issues and they couldn't get a plane because flights to India have less priority then other flights it seems . They actually told us this to our face.

On the European flight thing, Lufthansa is simply amazing. I have not had a single bad incident with them at all. Very comfortable, the people are courteous, good movies, and the food is getting better. :)

Frankfurt is an awesome, easy airport to walk around, they've done a really good job.

Anyone ever been to Vienna Airport? I'm going there...

Air Malta is a very good airline. The staff are friendly, the food was tasty, and there was a useful screen to tell us how far away the destination was and how long it would take to get there. The flight from Norwich International Airport to Malta International Airport was delayed by about 2 hours 30 minutes on the way back though it was only 45 minutes.

Malta Rules!!!! (I'm Half Maltese ;))

I'm on the security file at Glasgow Airport. I had no idea those pills were in my bag :spy Seriously that really did shake me up.

I know for a fact that Malta is great, as my GF's family is from there :) You can walk down a street and instinctively know you're going to use the word "hello," about 1000 times because they're so damn friendly!

Don't all airplanes have those? :p
