Draft: The Alphabet Draft

11. Erapalli Prasanna

Regarded as one of the finest bowling tacticians in India's history, Erapalli Prasanna was perhaps his nation's finest ever off-spinner.

Opponents facing up to Prasanna were often dismissed in their own minds before facing a ball, such was his ability to out think and over work batsmen.

Yet it was his control of flight that was most impressive, relentlessly luring batsmen forward, only to deceive them with violently dipping deliveries.

Thanks for tagging the next people, guys. As you know, I've been through a really tough week. This is sort of my getaway to take my mind off of what's happened in the real world.

I think when it's my time next I have a double pick. Geez, now it's time to restart thinking.

@AsadRM great pick of Laxman. He will always be my favourite Indian cricketer.

Pick seven, wicketkeeper. I'm slightly peeved about losing MS but I do like myself an attacking keeper, and one of the finest of the modern game is Quinton de Kock. He will of course bat at seven.

Sorry, you'll have to change your pick, your letter was D, I don't think the de in his name is part of his last name, unless someone can tell me otherwise

@ahmedleo414

Generally it means "of" so "son of" or "of such-and-such job". I wouldn't exactly consider it invalid, especially as he's picking a wicketkeeper. It's not like it's a specialist batsman/bowler. Keepers are relatively rarer in the game. But at the end of the day, it's your Draft so you make the final ruling.

In Trinidad, those of us who have the "de" or "da" in their names use it as part of their initials officially. Joshua da Silva is JDS for example.

Thanks for the explanation, yeah unfortunately I can't allow words like that to be used, a lot of people have asked me and I have said no, so unfortunately I will have to disallow this pick as well.

@ddrap14 you will have to make another pick please
