Test series over before it hardly started, and least not many people are watching it in England....

I am not an English supporter but the selection of the Ashes squad does not inspire confidence. Dawid Malan, Stoneman, Woaeks dont inspire confidence and dont show anything promising. What did happen to Haseeb Hameed? He looked a solid chap then why the change in opening? Where are the Trott's and Bell's? England has such a huge domestic scene and still cannot produce half decent middle order?

England have 11 more overs to score as many as they can. As new ball is due soon...

Does anyone know the name of the songs/instruments channel 9 use ?

I don't like saying it, but it's time England start picking horses for courses. They need to really consider whether they would like to be a team that only does well in home or homish conditions. I just don't see Anderson as the bowler he once was. I also think they need to see the value someone like a Woakes brings? Is he a bowler or a bowler who can bat or a batsman who can bowl? With Stokes you know he will give you runs and contributing overs. If he gets wickets, it's a bonus, although he usually does. Woakes I believe is a bowler who gives you valuable runs but his bowling has been woeful. No pun intended.

I reckon Australia has missed an opportunity to put England to the sword here, say they enforced the follow on tonight... They would of ended up having two new balls at the start of each night session both days, whether or not that was to do with Australia's "bowlers management theory" or just Smith and the rest of his entourage not thinking it through (highly unlikely) or there's a consensus amongst the playing group that the night session isn't as difficult as it looks, either way they have a bit of egg on there faces atm.

On a side note Andersons spell was bloody good, maybe one of the better spells of recent memory! Quality!
... And I'll also add I'm not convinced with handscombe at all, looks like he's a chance of l.b every ball.

Up there with Philander and Abbott in Hobart last year :yes , Fact!!!

As soon as it starts to deck around the England attack goes from impotent to world class!

It's been a good comeback from England. After Bairstow's and Moeen Ali's small partnership. England have made a good comeback...

354 would be a record score if they get it. I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure they'd be more than happy if they could bat out this match. I'm not holding my breath for that either.

It's time for a couple of long, long innings.

The night/evening session will going to be a tough one for England if they can survive that then we are up exciting 5th day finish in an Ashes test match.
