What an amazing match that was! Our bowlers took the fight to Australia's batsmen and had control over them throughout. They matched us up quite similarly but in the end, Ian Bell's heroic knock made the difference. One of those rare games where every one of your bowlers do well. Cheers to the 1-0 lead.

A magical spell from Peter Siddle first up gave Australia a perfect start followed by the batting unit who gave them a big lead. Although England made a significant comeback after having scored 420 runs after the first innings collapse. England managed to make the first breakthrough on just the third ball of the innings, however Shane Watson and Philip Hughes stabilized the innings with a 100-run stand. England came back strongly after removing Watson and Hughes as they got the Australians down to 182/7. Finally, Brad Haddin saw Australia home with an unbeaten 43.
