The Aussies are favourites but I think if we don't make the final or don't win it, it will be considered a failed tournament. We have Harry Kewell back which is great. Mark Viduka was set to announce his retirement a week or 2 ago. But our coach, Graham Arnold had a chat with him and persuaded him to not retire just for this tournament. He is set to retire after the tournament.

Well at half-time somehow Australia is losing to Oman 1-0

Australia have done what they did in their first ever WC match and conceded an early goal. Muburak scored the goal in the 32nd minute.

Aloisi and Cahill on in the second half. 15 minutes to go and Oman still lead 1-0.

I'll state the obvious and say as all commentators say. The Aussies would love a goal here.

Do or die now for the Aussies. According to the live scores, there are about 10 minutes left. C'mon Cahill. Time to step up lad!

people think we are just going to walk over everyone. we aren't untouchable like brazil or argentina. we are going to find it tough as we saw tonight. especially come semi final time we are going to have japan, iran and korea to contend with. they aren't going to be easy

Yep. Korea were semi finalists in the 02 WC so I think they may be our toughest behind Japan. Although we have defeated japan.

Well that was a truly atrocious game.Could it have been a worse performance?I mean,they really should have gone 2-0 up...there was no spark,the movement and passing was poor,and the defence was very wobbly.I know the conditions were very difficult,but we'd been training for that for weeks!C'mon boys!
