The Bands Draft

Whoops

:ind: :bat: Hrishikesh Kanitkar is my pick in the 2 Test band, meaning I only have the best 3 bands left to fill, which will hopefully be an easier task

For my pick in the 3 test band, I'm gonna take Richard Johnson, who had a 16 year career in the English county game, taking over 500 wickets, and averaged 17 with the ball in his 3 tests.

He is also the head coach for Middlesex, which is partly why I've chosen him

:eng: :bat: Wilf Slack

81 runs @ 13.50 (best 52) in 3 Test matches
13,950 runs @ 38.96 (25 centuries, best 248*) in 237 first-class matches

Wilf Slack was deeply unfortunate not to play more often for England: having been called into the Test team at short notice to face the fearsome West Indies, he braved West Indies' strongest five-man attack (the four quicks: Marshall, Garner, Patterson, Holding, and Roger Harper's underrated spin) for four hours as he made 52 out of an opening stand of 127 with Graham Gooch. It was not long after that that Slack's health became his biggest concern: he began to suffer regular blackouts and fainting spells, and died of an apparent heart attack while batting at the age of just 34. With the benefit of hindsight we can speculate about his symptoms, but what we know for sure is that a great cricketer and great cricket personality was lost before his time.
