The Book Thread

Finally got A Tale of Two Cities from my friend. Haven't started reading it but I'm sure I'd have a great time.

I remember a few weeks back, it was lying on the table of school's library to be issued, but my roll no. was last in the class and the student above me in the list got it and I was feeling like:mad:.

I asked for it to him but he said, "I'll read first and then give it to you one day." And the day never came.:( Now it's not available.

That is a really good book. I loved the characters, written out by Charles Dicken. It is mixed with emotions of joy and sadness all at the same time.

Started reading A Tale of Two Cities yesterday. It's a bit difficult to understand in the start but when you get the meaning, it becomes wonderful.

Anyone reads Feynman over here.Just read his "Surely You Are Joking...." .Rib tickling, thought provoking and interesting are the words to describe it.

My dad has a pretty good collection of old sci-fi books. Just started reading Hothouse by Brian Aldiss. Enjoying it so far.

Same with my dad. He finally got me to read Magician by Raymond Feist. Finished the book quickly (like 5 days considering how big the book is. Normally it takes me a day or 2 to read a book), then read the next 2 books in the Riftwar Saga then read the next 2 books in the next Saga although it is part of the same land but just 15 or so years into the future (finishing the Kings Bucaneer last night) and now onto the next book. I have things to read all the time now between getting the Conspiracy 365 books which come out at the start of each month (since all the books are called January, February, March etc. but I'm totally addicted to these books.

Is a tale of two cities good? I was going to get it but I've decided to get "Under the Eagle" - the first book of Simon Scarrows 9 book series on Rome. Anyone read it?

Is a tale of two cities good?

Only if you like reading classic english-french historical novels and don't mind if love stories are there in between. I'm reading it currently.

Completed A tale of two cities a few days ago. The only word that comes to my mind is "Classic"! Loved all the characters, all the chapters (especially the Track of a storm part), the book is touching.

Got Great expectations from my friend, read the first two chapters, and now I am sure to have a great time reading all of it.:)

"I never had one hour's happiness in her society, and yet my mind all round the four-and-twenty hours was harping on the happiness of having her with me unto death."

Finished reading 'Great expectations'.

Excellent book, Dickens is a legend.
