India Have won the match by a whopping 207 runs and have now will go to the Super eight Stage with more points and a better runrate. Srilanka on the other hand will certainly be dissapointed with this loss and would surely be low on confidence going into the super eight matches after a shamefull defeat.

Srilanka stared the run chase in style with both Jayasurya and Sangakara smashing Indian bowlers all over the park.

India then struck early and managed to stop a dangerous looking Jayasurya when Munaf Patel clean bowled him off a delivery which just pitched around Middle stump and came into the batsman. Sangakara on the other hand looked in vintage form with some lovely cover drives. Mean while Jaywardene was looking out for his lost form and was picking up singles to support Sankakara, but once jaywardene fell for 11 this time edging one to keeper dhoni off the first ball of the first change bowler Irfan Pathan the run rate started cree[ping up with attapattu struggling very badly to get going . Attapattu gave away as many as three maidens to the chnaged bowlers pathan and harbhajan while sangakara at the other end was choking up, mean while Sangakara completed his half century only one of srilankan innings.

Attapattu fell for 12 runs made from 37 balls which had led to a increased required rate and suddenly the whole srilankan batting order collapsed with the fall of sangakara and eventually Srilanka were bowled out for 125 off 32 overs and India won the match by 207 runs.
