Welcome one Welcome all to Auckland,New Zealand for this test.
The teams facing off are the Venomous Vipers and the Wild Wolverines.
The Pitch is green, the cloads overhead will help the pacemen, and I can't tell you the temperature because it's in Farenhite.(Or however you spell the blooming thing.)
World Champions,or was it Ashwinn?
You can't tell the Vipers apart, they all have big jackets on!
Anyway, whoever the captain of the Vipers was,he won the toss and chose to bat,Which at least one of the Vipers wasn't happy with!
Anyway,The Vipers openers and top order put on massive runs to post a total of 407,with Sashid and Ashwinn missing out on deserved hundreds.
The Wild Wolverine's reply was absolutely shocking,It would have been worse but for Aamir.
Again Ashwinn and Sashid piled on the runs.
That meant that the Wild Wolverineshad to chase 400+ runs to win.
So now we go in to the final innings.
First innings hero for the Wolverine's,Aamir was dismissed without scoring!
Then the middle order, after hearing Aamir come into the dressing rooms, decided to get some runs,as their lives seemed to depend on it!!!
With the Wolverine's tail in the Vipers assaulted them with everything they had.
In the last hour of play, the Vipers called a team meeting on the field, and World Champion's idea of swearing at them in Bengali was his favourite,it was even better when the rest of the team contributed their own home languages, the tail had to sit through swear words in almost 20 different languages to sucure the draw, what a tense match!!!
Ohai can I change my rank from 'bowler' to 'all rounder' again? I just hit four sixes in my friend's (who is a deadly bowler) over yesterday. Today this guy he told me that he could beat me by a mile I dismissed him for 0 runs with a yorker. :banana2 Anyway in that match I was the only one who hit a shot that went to the other side of the field.
I demand to come back as an all-rounder and bat at number 6 and bowl the third over plez.
Not too Happy with the draw.We could have won it either.Happy that i am continuing my good form in batting and doing good with bowling too.I am using the dravid's position and playing sensible too.Cheers for entire team.
Hello Everyone, I'm your host Aamir bringing you live coverage of the match between Lightning Lions and Wild Wolverines, from Old Trafford, Manchester. The pitch in flat but has some green grass on it. The overhead conditions are ideal for swing bowling. The pitch will get tougher to bat on as the game progresses. The grey cloud cover might lure the captain to bat first. Its 50-50 but still I'll edge in the favour of batting first.
Lions captain won the toss and elected to bat first. The Lions openers were at the middle and the game has begun. The Wolverines seamers were swing the ball in both ways and the lions openers were finding it a touch difficult to middle the ball. They managed only 56 runs off the first 15 overs. As the ball was getting a bit older the swing appeared to be diminishing and the batsmen were timing it better but still it wasn't easy out there. In 25 overs the Lions were 103/0. Both the Lions openers had reached their fifties and were well set and tried to accelerate but ended up loosing their wickets. Amiya and Karachi Xpress played little cameos but didn't last long. Lions scored 64 runs in the next 10 overs but lost 4 wickets aswell. Lions were 167/4 at the end of 35 overs. The spinners were doing quite well for the Wolverines. They picked up wickets at regular intervals. Lions had 6 wickets in hand and 15 over to go, they decided to have a go at the bowlers. Some of the batsmen were literally slogging and going hard at the ball but it helped them to post up a total of 257 runs at the end of 50 overs.
Wolverines batsmen came out to open the innings. They had a shaky start and lost both of their openers and that too due to run outs. Wolverines were 50/2 at the end of 15 overs. The ball was gripping on the pitch and life was harder for the batsmen. Wolverines were 88/2 at the end of 25 overs. They need 170 runs at the rate of 6.80 runs per over. The Wolverines were struggling as they managed only 51 runs off the next 10 overs and lost 2 wickets. The required rate kept on increasing and by this time it went up to 7.93 runs per over. The Wolverine batsmen tried their best to hit the ball hard but the ball wasn't coming onto the bat and they kept on loosing wickets. Wolverines were bowled out for 205 at the end of 46 overs. Lions won the game by 52 runs.
Thats all from the match. Tune in again next time for more live action. Till then I'm your host Aamir signing off...
