The FA Cup Thread

Darlington are sitting nicely at the top of league two i think. Hope you turn them over and show everyone what the cups about.

They are on a 8 game unbeaten streak, but we are on a 13 game unbeaten streak. ;)

They will think it will be a cricket score on Saturday, but I sure do hope we can manage to turn them over. It will be the best moment of my life supporting Droylsden if we can win.

We just won our final match before the cup tie 3-0 against Hampton and richmond in the fa trophy :happy

Unlucky mate on losing 4-2.

Well, we have another replay, we managed to hold Darlington to a 0-0 draw!

The game started off in the worst way, Craig Mawson our goal keeper was took off injuried in the first few minutes, the first half it was rather 50-50. Then, the second half it was all us! We could have won it, but if it wasnt for a deflection it would have gone in, What a performance, over 400 Droylsden there.

Here is BBC's Report:

Droylsden recovered from a nervous start to earn a replay against League Two leaders Darlington.

Keeper Craig Mawson collided with a post and was carried off after three good early saves but Droylsden stand-in Kyle Clancy continued the good work.

Darlington struggled after half-time and Clancy's only save of note was from Richie Foran's diving header.

The visitors' best effort came from Sean Newton, whose second-half free kick was deflected narrowly wide.

Darlington: Brown, Austin, Miller, Foster, Valentine, Purdie, Hulbert (Ravenhill 66), Kennedy, Griffin (Gray 85), Clarke (Foran 48), Blundell.
Subs Not Used: White, Kazimierczak, Poole, Ryan.

Droylsden: Mawson (Clancy 19), Brownhill, Byron, Cryan, Newton, McGuire, Pickford (Brown 67), Sorvel, Lamb, Tipton, Townson (Prince 75).

Heard from a mate of a mate that there was a pitch invasion after the game, he went up and hugged Tipton! (who I think I'm right in saying scored the goal?)

That sure is correct mate :)

Mass pitch invasion (after the 13 minutes stoppage time after a player was down for 30 minutes with a suspected broken neck) And, yep, Matty Tipton scored his first goal for Droylsden :)

:laugh

May I just ask why mate? :)

Thanks. we really did deserve to win, they really didn't look as if they wanted the win, I just hope we don't get too big headed because Chesterfield are mid -table.

We got a whole mention last night not on it, we are all still on cloud nine!

Just because I read the post about you getting FM09 whilst at the game, and it reminded me that you were a Droylsden fan. Always good to see a minnow win, and knowing someone who supported them just made me smile.

Good luck in the next round.
