How does it affect you mentally having a period.

Being honest my mental state is very bad and it turns me from a reasonable person to a completely unreasonable arsehole (I have been told) maybe not that bad but I do seem to have a short fuse and, don't bother telling me what to do... No! I also get very emotional so bad I have cried myself to sleep because I have run out of chocolate or someone snapped at me in the forums or on the train. But I have been told it is normal with exception to the problem last time that I told you about.

Is it the same every month, can you take any thing for it. Do you have heavy or light flow, does this have an effect on how you feel. Does it affect how you interact with people in real life.

Not always the same which makes me feel I get a hormonal in-balance. For the pain and cramps I take pain killers either nurofen for periods 200mg or feminax. I have a heavy flow (let me know if you don't know what this means). I feel bloody awful and want to curl up and die but know I have to get on with shit... I get pain in my legs and back and get cramps in my stomach... I mostly avoid meeting people and stay at home

Is it important for men to understand all this (most men I know shy away from this to be honest)

How should a man treat a woman during her cycle?

Yes if they wish to stay live then understand when the trouble starts be nice and stop talking clinched bollox. When 'on' respect the women care for her and tend to her every need... And don't be afraid to go to the shops and buy her the tampons or towels she needs and remember the right type and size day time and night!
