Inzamam`s 49 ball hundred brings Pakistan back in the hunt !
INZAMAM SMASHES 49 BALL CENTURY : PAKISTAN BACK IN THE HUNT !
Pakistani Captain Inzamam Ul Haq smashed a tremendous 49 ball 100 to make an impossible looking target look possible . He was supported ;ably by a subdued Afridi in a crucial century partnership after Pakistan lost S.Butt early . Inzamam was particularly severe on Irfan Pathan who was taken for 96 runs off his 9 overs . He was finally clean bowled by Balaji to the relief of many Indian fans and the team . One wonders whether Pakistan have the momentum going for them to clinch a win but its still a long way to go . Pakistan have Afridi and Youhana on the crease and a long lineup to follow . Whether Pakistan win this one or not, we look set for a thriller yet gain in the Pentangular .

Inzamam, Afridi and Youhana`set Pakistan up for a famous win !
Pakistan are well on track to register a record run chase win against India at Derby thanks to half centuries from Afridi and Youhana and a staggering 49b all 100 by Inzamam . Afridi played one of his most patient and responsible knocks before he was lbw to Harbhajan for 74 but Youhana on the other hand made a swashbuckling 50 . The Indian bowling was smashed all over th park and now they seem to have lost the plot . Pakistan need just over 6 RPO to win with Youhana and Younis batting and th pinchhitters like Kamran and RAzzaq to follow ! Pathan was disappointing for India while Balaji picked up 2 wickets and Harbhajan one . The last 15 overs promise to be the most tense moments of the tournament with Pakistan despoerately needing a win to stay alive and the Indians trying to confirm their final berth ! The match in mny ways display`s the changing face of ODI cricket where 300+ trgets are regularly being chased .
All this credit must go to the curator as well and also attributed to th small size of the stadium .

PAKISTAN CREATE HISTORY : Beat India Chasing 383 !
383 to win , no one gave them a chance but many forgot that it was an Indo-Pak contest where the most predictable thing is unpredictablity . Pakistan needed to win this desperately to give themselves a chance to qualify . Their previous highest Second innings total successfully chased was 316 agaist India last month at Ahmedabad in yet another thriller . Inzamam Ul Haq set a a 10 RPO platform from where Pakistan never looked back . Also helped by the fact that Afridi batted patiently , Yousuf Youhana clobbered a 73 ball 87 to help Pakistan romp home by 6 wickets with another 4 overs to spare which makes the win look all the more impressive and the Indian bowling even more vulnerable against the Aussies who are now back in business . Pakistan , inspite of this win may not qualify but they crtainly have qualifid to be called as `Real Fighters` . India , who were outstanding with the ball in the first half of the tournament looked aweful today . They lacked ideas to tackle a rampaging batting lineup . The fact that the ground was not huge made matters worse . The only bowler who looked decent was Harbhajan . India have to sort out quite a few worries before the finals but first , they have to look at qualifying for the finals . Pakista, On the other hand now know that they have everything to play for against the boys from the Carribean who are yet to win a match . Pakistan would ideally need to win with a bonus point . If not they would end up with 28 points from 8 matches . If India beat Austalia without a bonus point, Australia would end up with 28 as well and Pakistan would qualify with more wins than Australia(*Australia tied two matches) . India still remain the saftest of the 3 to qualify since they need to just fetch 2 points to confirm their spot in the finals i.e even if India lose their 2 matches without conceding a bonus point , they qualify for the finals !
Till then, they need to regroup and introspect as to how they let a game which was tightly in their grip slip away !

Ravi Shastri : Welcome to the Presentation ceremony for the Game 17 of the Natwest PEntangular . We have witnessed one of the most unforgettable ODI matches ever. Over 750 runst scored in the day and the highest run aggregate in an ODI match . India registered their highest ODI total but even that was not enough to stop Pakistan from staying alive in the series .
May I now call upon R.Dravid to have a chat !
Rahul : Iam short of words . Most of us are shocked . I thought we bowled poorly and have a lot of work to do if we have to win the series . I cannot justify us not defending 383 successfully . I hope we pull up our socks before the next match .

Now , I would like Inzamam ?Ul Haq to have a chat . Inzy , what did you have during the break . You guys proved all of us wrong .
Inzy : Thanks to the Almighty for this win . Shahid, Yousuf and myself all of us were in good form and I said that if India could score 383, so could we and we did make it successfully . The pitch was very good as well .
Ravi : So, you still have a chance to qualify if you beat thw West Indies and the other results go your way.
Inzy : We will do our job and if things go right with the other results, we will qualify . Our job is to win our matches .
