India strengthen their position
INDIA STEADILY MOVE ON TO 233/1 after 36 overs !
India have strengthened their position thanks to some steady batting by the little master who is 83* and VVS.Laxman who has slowly but steadily got India to a position from where they can easily score 300 and push on to a score of 350 and bat Pakistan out of th match . Earlier , India had got off to a flying start with thehelp of a breezy knock by S.Ganguly . The Pakistani bowling was punished for some indisciplined bowling . The bowled as many as 69 extras in just 36 overs . There was some sanity restored thanks to a superb 10 over spell by Shoaib Akthar and decent medium pace by A.Razzaq . Pakistan would now be hoping for an Indian collapse or else a target of around 350-370 looms large on them considering the batting to follow for India .

INDIA SET A TARGET OF 383 TO WIN
India have scored their highest score in ODIs to set Pakistan an almost impossible score of 383 to chas . Sachin Tendulkar accelerated superbly to score his second highest ODI score of 178 . At one stage, he looked all set to break S.Anwar`s record against his own team but he unfortunately was stumped by K.Akmal in quest of acceleration showing the selflessness of the man . The innings showed one and all that Sachin Tendulkar is the same batsman even today . Pakistani bowling was schoolboy like and they were punished by a world-class batting lineup . The only bowler to be spared was S.AKthar who is usually very expensive . Shahid Afridi was meted out sever treatment in the end in an over where SAchin hit 3 sixes to light up the stadium at Derby !
