OPENING CEREMONY RED CARPET EVENT

Ladies and Gentlemen, Let's get you all to the Red Carpet, where all the players and our special guests are arriving, where our correspondent talks to them about their excitement regarding the new season of TPCL!

First up, we have Xtreme Rebelz owner and player, Ali Bubere (@AliB ), who was one of the highest scorers of the last season of TPCL. Let's talk to him.



Ali, How are you feeling about being back to the TPCL, after a long break of two years.
AB: It feels great! I have been waiting for a long time for this to be back.

You were the highest scorer of the Limited Overs league last year. What can we expect from you this season?
AB: A player's performance depends upon the amount of practice and preparation he has done, as well as some luck I have never been more prepared in my life. So if luck favours me, you can expect tons of runs from me this season too.

Next we have on the Red Carpet, is another one of the highest run scorers last year, the ever dependable wicket keeper batsman, Parth K (@EyeInTheSky ). He is here with us, along with his friend and mentor, Mahela Jayawardene, who will be coaching the Xtreme Rebelz this season.



Welcome Parth and Mahela. How's your excitement leading upto the league?
PK: We've been pretty excited. Along the way here, I was just telling Mahela about how it feels so good for me to be back on the playing field again competing for one of the biggest titles in the world.

And Mahela, how does it feel to be as a coach of a team against your friend Parth?
MJ: Of course, it is exciting. As fun it is to be with my friend, it is much more fun to be against his team, so that I can tease him when our team wins.

Next up is one of the owners and star batsmen of the newest TPCL team, Royal Mavericks, Van Divine (@VDQuint )! He has been the highest run scorer in the warm-ups, so it will be exciting to watch him in the league.

Next up is the only female player taking part in TPCL season 2, Bellatrix Lestrange (@Bellatrix Lestrange ). She showed her capabilities in the warm-ups, being the highest wicket taker among all teams.

We've waited for this for more than two years, but the time has arrived...

IT'S THE TIME OF OUR LIVES!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I WELCOME TO THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE PLANET CRICKET LEAGUE, SEASON 2

I, Yash Hirani, am gonna be your host for the evening.

So first up, let's get you all a glimpse of what we can expect from this league.

I'm sure you're all excited seeing that. At least I can't wait to get onto the field and play.

Now to kick off the program we have the man behind the league, the vault, the mind, the Godfather, Lalit Kumar Modi (@The Real Modi ), to say a few words about this league.



Ladies and Gentlemen, WELCOME TO TPCL SEASON 2. We were asked innumerable times to bring the league back, considering the massive amount of success we got in the first season. It was just a matter of finding the right place and time to host it. But now, it's here. And it's gonna be better.
We've got new teams, new personnel in the management, and main thing of all, newer players. It always helps to get fresher and different minds working both behind and front of the scenes.
I'd like to say to all that whatever happens, we all are the winners, coming together having such a big league together. Let's make it successful and enjoyable for all. And Yeah, remember one thing, whatever you do, you all know at the end, the real winner is Modi

After that rocking performance, we've got a special speech from Simon Taufel, who'll be the head of the umpiring and officiating panel in the league, emphasising the need for fair play and sportsmanship in cricket, and what measures the umpiring panel would take to make the league free from any wrong decisions, judgements or any unsportsmanlike or unfair behaviour.

Next up, we have the shining silverware we all will be competing for in this league.
