DAY 5

urn.jpg

Australia are looking to wrap up the first ever PlanetCricket Ashes Test match in quick time, needing just 145 runs to win with a whole day ahead of them and 9 wickets in hand.

MORNING

50.1: Nice and easy. First ball of the day, WORLD CHAMPIONS takes a quick single and brings up his second half century of the match.

WORLD CHAMPIONS 50 not out (70 balls) 7 fours, 0 sixes

51.6: A great moment from Roofrom50! He got a fifty in the first innings and has followed it up with a ton in the second. Last ball of the over, he manages to run three and the three figures are on the board.

Roofrom50 100 not out (155 balls) 11 fours, 1 six

63.2: Too little too late, but England have got WORLD CHAMPIONS out. He didn't judge that delivery well and he was dead in front.

WORLD CHAMPIONS lbw b. Burnsy1 66 (110) 8 fours, 0 sixes

Left Hander would like to make up for his duck in the first innings I'm sure. The pressure is off, just 90 to win.

71.2: This is strange... a quick delivery from PaulNixon1 strikes Left Hander on what seems like the waist and he hobbles off, unable to continue. I wonder if it is serious?

Left Hander retired hurt 12 (28) 2 fours, 0 sixes

Mad Snake takes his place.

75.2: 300 up for Australia, and only 45 to win.

Australia 301-2 (452 balls)

79.1: Brilliant catch! The game is gone, but it will give England a boost to finally get Roofrom50 out. He would have liked to have been out there when the winning runs were scored, but it's an incredible innings anyway.

Roofrom50 c. Highlander999 b. PaulNixon1 157 (235) 20 fours, 1 six

Hooper has the chance to get the party started.

81.6: Lunch on the final day. Australia steaming towards victory. When they come out for the afternoon they will need just 27 runs to win. Concern for the tourists is the injury to Left Hander, but apart from that they are on cloud nine.

Lunch, Day 5
Australia second innings: 322-3
Mad Snake 12*, Hooper 8*
Australia need 27 to win

AFTERNOON

87.4: Hooper edges to slip! Single figures needed, 9 to win, and he gets himself out. Typical Hooper. Good catch from Simbazz - it's about the ONLY thing he has done in this game!

Hooper c. Simbazz b. PaulNixon1 11 (22) 1 four, 0 sixes

biggy09 - finish it off.

90.2: It's all over! A nice four through third man from Mad Snake and the Australians rush onto the field to celebrate in front of a sickened England team. The home side let themselves down badly in the second innings. Let's hope these scenes of Hooper downing beer and smoking cigarettes whilst singing songs out of tune is a lesson for them. The PlanetCricket Ashes is underway - and it's advantage Australia.

End Of Innings
Australia second innings: 352-4
Mad Snake 33*, biggy09 5*
Australia win by 6 wickets

End Of Match
England first innings: 366 all out (Will NA 101, Holdenator 57, IloveGilly 5-83)
Australia first innings: 322 all out (WORLD CHAMPIONS 85, Roofrom50 82)
England second innings: 304 all out (Holdenator 72, evertonfan 52)
Australia second innings: 352-4 (Roofrom50 157, WORLD CHAMPIONS 66, hedger14 57)
Australia win by 6 wickets and lead the PlanetCricket Ashes 1-0 with 4 matches to play

We'll be back for the presentation soon.

PLAY OF THE DAY

ROOFROM50 - 157 (235) 20 fours, 1 six

Australia made easy work of the run chase thanks to their domineering opener Roofrom50, who slammed 157 off 235 balls with an amazing 20 fours and a six to guide his country to a lead in the PlanetCricket Ashes. He did it all offering just one leg before appeal and one catchable shot as a chance to the English. This innings earned Roofrom50 the man of the match award and he will have a big part to play in the remainder of the series.

Great victory lads :clap lets keep this momemtum going :D Congrats Roo for the wonderful knock and bag the MOM award :clap

Took the first two catches in the second innings as well. Just like in real life how Hussey retired hurt, so have I. I'm hoping that the injury won't be to serious.

Great knock from Roo, a well deserved MOTM. Well done boys and let's keep the momentum going!

damn poor performance from me in this test. Pumped up going into the second atleast one century in the 2nd and a load of Aussie scalps. Burnsy1 for MOTS:spy

Nice comfortable win by us :D Great knock from Roo getting 150, did most of the work :p. Good start to the Ashes for us.:happy

I would like to informally thank my bat that did most of the work :p I just stood back and let it rip :banana2:banana2:banana2

Top effort in the presntation Lee, really is very good and has a lot of people interested, nice to see that I'm in fine form with the bat getting past 50 both times but I need to start converting them at some time! Hopefully I will be able to get past 3 figures at some point in the next game :).

That was a very close test to say the least, momentum swung forwards and backwards through out the test and finally the knock from Roo took it away from us! Hopefully we will hit back harder and stronger! Carn the English!

And for you bowlers, just give me the edges and I`ll do the rest  :p You two better keep up that good partnership :D

BREAKING NEWS

urn.jpg

It has been reported that controversial Australia captain WORLD CHAMPIONS has been injured in an accident at the team hotel.

He hit twin fifties in the tourists' first Test victory over arch rivals England in the first ever PlanetCricket Ashes Test match, but it has been confirmed he will miss the next match "at the very least".

The accident was believed to have happened with a boning knife.

A spokesperson for PlanetCricket Australia said "WC is unable to take part in any cricket for at least a week, so is out of the test. Feelin Blue? will come in as skipper".

Hooper has not been seen since the news broke.
