The Reintegration Thread

Basically the ECB don't like Muslims and have decided to drop him and apply for his deportation.

Kevin Pietersen is good player and future of England cricket team.

So frustration the ECB dropped KP as he was in the form of his life and it looks as though it's going to cost England their number 1 ranking!!

I was reading here before the test and before KP was dropped that SA were in with chance but when they dropped him for the final test match it was clear SA were favourites

South Africa were 1-0 when Pietersen was in the side, drawing a cause and effect relationship between him being dropped and us not winning would be one of those ridiculous things people do.

We're going to lose the series, that I wish people would put before all this hype about being number one in rankings which are fairly meaningless anyway.

KP retiring from ODIs then reversing his decision with a matter of weeks shows what a prize doos he is. Makes me laugh the saffers are passing what KP did off as "banter", then I gather Smith may be denying anything was sent at all. Whether "doos" is a term that saffers use between each other with no offence, it isn't up to them to decree whether Strauss would take offence.

You're right, but they were never going to be a part of the issue and did a good job in not making themselves a bigger part of it.

He's fallen out with every team he's played for excluding Surrey (who he hasn't been with long) and whoever his IPL team is (because they pay him lots). He's a fantastic cricketer, I love watching him play, but his time has gone, I and most of the rest of English cricket has had enough of his unprofessional attitude.

He can play out the rest of his days making lots of money in some hit and giggle cricket. Deep down he will hate not being a part of the Ashes next year.

I just find it hard to care whose fault it is. The public interest in the story hardly runs beyond gossip. Deep down they all know it'd have been better if the entire thing had been handled internally. I mean when KP did the presser after the 2nd Test nobody knew wtf he was talking about. The only reason the situation is such is not because of the sheer strength of team ethic, but that it all got put aside for sheer butthurt. I don't care who called who a naughty word; I assure you cricket teams have survived worse personal relationships.

Kevin Pietersen, like Sir Ian Botham, was a problem worth having for English cricket ? Telegraph Blogs

Oh yes indeed.

Retaining the World Twenty20 crown will be harder without Kevin Pietersen: Paul Newman | Mail Online

Okay mr newman is the mailing is claiming this:

QUOTE said:
KP makes attempt to put things right

It was Kevin Pietersen who contacted Andrew Strauss late on Monday to ask when they could meet to try to thrash out their problems rather than the other way round.
A small difference, perhaps, but Pietersen at least seems genuinely contrite now and wants to take the initiative on mending the broken relationship that most blocks his England return.

Strauss told him he was going to Spain for a few days and will play for Middlesex at Worcester next Tuesday so any window of opportunity before then will be a small one.
They may meet on Sunday or Monday but it is not certain. When they eventually do, KP has to be totally open about his ?provocative? texts and show regret together with a vow that he will change.
Only then will there be any chance of a way back for him.

With recent accusations by KP that the ECB had been leaking info about his private discussions about his talks/negotiations about them.

I hope Mr.Newman as a journalist has got this info from KP himself if true and not some link in the ECB. Since this would be fishy.

Strauss is clearly desperate to have as many players in the lineup that might score less than he does :spy

KP: :noway He's so vain, he prob'ly thinks this thread is about him!

He was bad before, but now that he's the only one with his own thread on here, he was bound to become insufferable.

Have you noticed this furore only kicked off after this thread started?

Just woke up here and turned on the TV and glances at the NZ vs India test match.

Heard Sanjay Manjrekar say that Pietersen will join ESPN star commentary team for the T20 world cup.

Ha, next time I won't mute Manjrekar. :p

Who said he wouldn't be going to the T20 World Cup.......................? :D

In some ways it might be better for all concerned if he was disciplined and handed a fixed match suspension. Everyone could then see he'd been disciplined, we'd know when he would be available again and he could be warned of his conduct or he would not be picked immediately once his suspension ended.

This could drag on the way it is, maybe those suggesting it is the end of the road for KP are right. I'd ban him until the summer at which point the ECB, KP, coach and whoever is captain sit down and discuss his potential return.

KP in the commentary box reminds me of when Channel 9 dragged in Shane Warne to commentate the cricket during the year he was suspended for taking those weight loss pills. That didn't exactly sit comfortably with me I've got to say.
