I do understand the cultural difference(s) that exist between the Subcontinent and the Western members, but at the same time we have a lot of common things as well (for which, I don't like the idea of making a separate forum). Though, I do agree that some of the Subcontinent members post bullshit most of the times, but they're a few Western members who do the same. So this isn't a thing to rant about.

Speaking specifically of the Sachin issue, I quite agree with Shravi's post on the first page. To quote a couple of lines:

It's not as if it's without reason, he's just scored 14000 runs, won the ICC Player of the year, is closing in on 100 centuries, is in sublime form and has had one of his best seasons to date.

Ollie and AngryPixel are the two people who have been disappointing lately. If you guys have some problems with each other, I'll (and I guess so will most of the members) appreciate if you guys sort it out outside the forum, and keep the forum clean. Such fights/posts actually aggravate the whole situation.

I feel both the sides are at fault, but for different reasons.

What is so much with reps? And, I don't think a separate forum will do anything. There should be some strict measures against spamming which is increasing in CD forum. C07 forum needs strict moderation as well and that is the place from where such people come out (mostly).

^See, there are some decent Sub-Continent members on the forum. Although at first i found you slightly annoying, you've definitely improved.

Another point i didn't raise in my earlier post is "The Sachin Issue". He's done well recently, but India in general seriously need to calm down and stop acting like he is the best ever sportsman ever to live on the whole planet ever.

I can see why people get annoyed with members who run around shouting stuff like

"Sachin = God" or "Sachin is the best ever player, ever"

It needs to stop, i've heard stories that the same kind of thing happened when Yuvraj hit all those sixes, apparently there were people saying things like "Yuvi King of Sixers" or something along those lines.

tbh, i havent even visited the C07 forums in over 2 years.

most of my analysis is based on what i've seen in Cricket Discussion and General Discussion. i rarely visit the other forums.

How is that annoying really? If someone from your country/team you support does well, you are bound to be happy and can express your views. This is the place for it, right? And, it is a cricket person we're talking about and not any other sports person. I don't really see the point in your post...

I think the rep system should be removed if anything. Indians don't understand humor or sarcasm, I get loads of reps saying "racist" or something similar even on posts that have no racial connotation.

Not that I care about reps, I just don't like being called a racist for no reason.

oh and as for the Mod issues, there are a few Asian mods who only go after people who they deem as being anti-Asian, so the mods being biased is on both sides.

I agree with reps being removed. We surely don't need reps to determine the quality of a member. I've seen people having whole lot of reps who actually shouldn't.

It's alright if people keep it to things like, "Did you see xyz's innings today, great stuff", but when people start saying things like "xyz, Greatest player ever, best batsman ever etc" and "xyz player = God". And also, we don't need loads of threads about how good a player is, we only need one.

I was at Lord's when Broad and Trott hit that magnificent partnership against Pakistan in the summer, but i didn't start saying things like what i have mentioned above.


And jk, don't go near the C07 forum, apart from people like ahad and a couple other people, it's one of the worst parts of the site in my opinion.

After four solid years of Sachin Sachin Sachin it gets very tiresome. Although from a long back this thread typifies the type of thing that has caused people to get so narky every time a Sachin thread pops up.

i think the proper phrasing should be "Indians dont understand YOUR humor".
obviously due to different cultures. i've seen interviews where the americans dont understand the british humor and vice-versa.

why go that far ? in india itself, the north indians dont understand the south indian humor. ████, they dont even understand each others languages....

What is God and who is God actually? Why care about the people who think like that? Some can never understand and in India there is a passion for the game and for him, a bit too much maybe.
