Sri Lanka were dealt a body blow as Rudra Pratap Singh, playing in just his second match snared his 3rd wicket. This time it was the resolute Russel Arnold.
The ball was pitched outside offstump to the left hander and came in sharply. Arnold trying to work the ball to the leg side missed the line of the ball and was clean bowled.
Arnold made a big, round ZERO as Sri Lanka are in deep trouble at 66/4. Tillekaratne Dilshan walks in.
Yes! The visitors are indeed in deep trouble as they just managed to lose the important wicket of Dilshan. The plucky right hander tried to hit just his 3rd ball over the top of cover but a diving Tendulkar took a blinder to give Sreesanth his first ever wicket in ODIs.
Dilshan should remember that this is the second time in the series he has got dismissed due to his cheekiness. Sri Lanka are 67/5 as Chandana walks in.
Mahela Jayawardene and Upul Chandana have taken it to themselves to get out of the mess Sri Lanka are in. They are patiently working the ball around and scoring the occassional boundary. They have managed to raise 20 runs so far and the score reads 85/5.
Jayawardene's run out leaves Sri Lanka high and dry!
Things certainly are getting better and better for the home team as the last of Sri Lanka's recognized batsmen, Mahela Jayawardene was run out.
It all started off a streaky inside edge off Chandana's bat of the bowling of Harbhajan Singh. The keeper and the slip fielder were not aware that the ball just flew past them. Even the batsmen were bemused for a while and then started to scamper a single.
But the ever watchful Yuvraj Singh sweeped in from short fine leg and hurled a throw to Dhoni, who ran the dangerman Jayawardene. Jayawardene scored 20 runs off 32 balls with 3 fours.
Sorry guys, I was not able to update because my photoshop screwed up and promptly crashed. I have reinstalled a lower version of that and it will have to do for now. But the news is "I AM BACK"
Thanks for all your support. Please continue to do so. :hpraise
Sreesanth served yet another fine example why he is regarded as one of the emerging talents of Indian cricket. after pegging chandana back with a multitude of short of length balls, he dished out the perfect yorker, which Chandan tried to drive at and got castled.
Thats wicket number 2 in ODIs for the Kerala speedster and it has been a truly brilliant comeback into the international arena by the youngster after the mauling he received at Nagpur.
Sri Lanka are looking down the barrel at 87/7 as Chaminda Vaas walks in.
At the end of 25 overs, the visitors are precariously placed at 91/7. Though this run rate can very well take them upto 182, they have just 3 wickets in hand. Maharoof has shown his batting talents in the last two matches and we all know that Chaminda Vaas is no mug with the bat. These two need to keep their wits to themselves and play out ball by ball.
For the home team all the bowlers have done an exceptional job, especially R.P.Singh. The youngster making his first appearance in the series has bowled with a lot of grit and has snared 3 wickets so far. Sreesanth also is gaining on confidence as his two wickets show us.
