The world's cheapest car

Still a horrific name for a car :p

We should start a thread stating renaming co. cars which are in the business over decades, should we ? :p

and the security reasons are concerned this is basically made as a family car, where the average driving speed don't exceed 50-60 Km/hr, with 4 people in a car we don't need a car with speed of 200Km/hr or something, we start early drive slow and reach safe this is what we are taught in RTO and driving schools.

And also experts designers were involved in the making therefore proper aspects are taken care off, it's not a remote controlled car by the way :noway

Negatives are also there,
♦ Aluminium Body
♦ Use of gum instead of velding
♦ 15 Ltrs tank only
♦ Ability to reach only 105kph.
♦Rexine seats

But what else you could expect in 1Lakh:p?

I'm surprised no-one's talked about the engine yet, and the placement of the engine as well.

Heck, I can compare it to a Ferrari :p

Official TATA Nano website for those who would like to order the car for Rs 1,00,000.

Ferrari will be tough to keep down, it will be tough to keep up :p

On a serious note, It's a first in an Indian car to have a rear engine. I'm concerned about the noise and heat in the car.
Also, rear collisions might be a major risk!!

It is one of the major disadvantage. The Aluminum body instead of iron body is not as rigid as Iron.

Some Indian reviewers described this as below:

"collision of nano is like crushing of a matchbox"

Certainly not at the back. I don't think many 2-box cars would have a crumple zone at the rear.

Oh another interesting fact - The size of its rear wheels and its front wheels are different. In case of a flat tyre or something, even though you can use the spare anywhere, but not for long. You'll need to get the 1st tyre repaired immediately, and put in the correct place.

(oh.. did I tell you BMW's don't have spare tyres.. So, this feature can be compared to a Beemer :p )

That's another pointed by a news channel yesterday. If there is a puncture in the tyre, the car can go only 40 kms more.

Most upmarket cars don't. My dad's BMW and my mum's Audi TT both have run flat tyres. I think they go for a good few hundred miles. Yep, this car is as good as a BMW :p

LOL, what a pile of rubbish. It is just a cheap version of the Smart car. The only people who I could see using that are gays, old women and poor people

It's going to be going the same speed as a Ferrari in rush hour ;)

See what I did to you Tom :p
From a pile of rubbish to a BMW and Ferrari in 6 hours flat :D
