Bowling average is runs given divided by wickets, you are thinking of strike rate which is how many balls per wicket ;)

Edit: I calculate them both for you!

treva added 2 Minutes and 36 Seconds later...

Here you go:

Strike Rate
FC: 26.56
OD: 36

Average
FC: 15
OD: 21.5

Piece of cake! :p

Glamorgan All Out

Out in the middle, the power play overs had just finished. This was a big issue for us. Danish Kaneria, the Pakistan spin bowler was now being introduced into the attack. On a slow pitch, he would be ripping the turn out of the ball, and causing Dimi and Tom a hell of a lot of problems. They had never faced such a spinner before and would have there work cut out, just surviving. We could see that Dimi and Tom were a wee bit anxious as they were delaying quite a bit. However, they couldn't keep everyone waiting.......

Sure enough, Danish Kaneria with his very first ball, completely deceived Tom with the googly and had him trapped LBW on the back-foot. It was absolutely plumb, and there was no complaint from the dressing room. Tom had completely failed to pick it up. It was just a top class delivery.

Dizzy was the new batsman. Dizzy is pretty handy with the bat and would have played world class spin before. We had been hoping that him and Dimi could at least get us into three figures. Unfortunately, Dizzy perished on the very next ball, when he nicked one through to James Foster who took a good catch. Kaneria was now on a hat-trick and Cooky our number 11 was out there.

Dizzy came back, swearing it had been his bat hitting the ground which had made the noise. I wasn't so sure but didn't say anything. We all looked at the TV screen as Sky Sports showed the replay with snikco. Sure enough, there was a faint edge just as the ball passed Dizzy's bat, and his bat was no where near the ground.

"Ok, maybe it was out"

Luckily for Cooky he was able to survive the hat-trick ball and even went as far as keeping the next four deliveries out, surviving the over.

"We're in big trouble. Anyone fancy trying to find that guy who shot me and getting him to do one on Cook, Bopara and the two Flower's? :p"

This did help ease the tension as everyone cracked up. The very next over though, Dimi, edged one to Flower at second slip. We were all out for 68. It had been a pathetic performance with the bat. Yes, it had been tricky conditions, but not even making it into three figures was very poor indeed. I could see the pain on both the skip's and the coach's face. Only two of our guys had got into double figures. It was pretty much game over. The Essex opening pair had just ripped right through us with spin finishing the tail off. The team were struggling to get motivated.

As we all sat around in the dressing room, looking like we had 2 hours to live, Dave tried to boost our spirits up,

"Look guys. I know that our chances of winning this match are near impossible, so I know it is hard to find some sort of drive. So I won't ask you to play for the team. I'll ask you to play for that kid upstairs in a wheel-chair who idolises each and everyone of you! Can you live with yourselves, knowing that a kid who is dying was witness to a half-arsed effort? I can't and neither should you. Now let's go out there and make that kid proud"

"We're with you Dave!"

"Yeah, come on lads I've always wanted to see if I can make history :p"

"Only history your gonna make Cooky is for the person who talks the most crap ;)"

"Just because you idolise me Tom, doesn't mean you have to be rude to me :p"

"You wish"

That speech by Dave had been one of the most passionate I had ever heard. His words had kindled some sort of fire into every single member of that teams heart. This was something deep-down, the part of man which never goes down without a fight. We would not go down without a fight. We would fight till the end.......

Thats a huge total right there:p The bowlers need to do extremely well to have a chance although this one is already over:p

Nice stuff! KUTGW!

Meh, easy, bring on the two openers for a couple each, then bring in Barro....Oh wait you didn't sign that amazing Chinamen bowling American did you! :p
