Transfer Thread

Your med/med/med would of been a lot better to train then him. 120k is very over priced tbh.
I know it's over priced, but I've always loved training allrounders. They're just so much more fun than regular batsmen or bowlers. Besides, 120K isn't a lot of cash anyways.

Could very well be the new Crouch, Santosh. Will be training him up real good...

Dunno about the rest of you, but if I spot a young player worth training to be a good member of my 1stXI for a few seasons and he has superb leadership I'd pay extra for him.

At the end of the day Houghton > Santosh though.

I'm retarded - I didn't even realise the med bowling haha. I had a similar player which I trained up and sold for 1.8mil :)

Superb leadership a real bonus too :D Looking forward to having him captain my side in 5 seasons.

Yeah, people do. I see tons of managers bidding on people over 30.

Anyway, he will be good for 2 seasons in my team, I won't be stam netting him obviously unless he's the best I've got.

Jack Mampe is now a BFN Bombers player.

Apparently due to the two clubs respective performances in the PC comp, he decided to move to a "bigger club" and one which "doesn't have such a ridiculous name"

32 is pretty old and that price you paid does seem a bit too expensive for that standard of player. All a big learning curve though ;)

If he wins a fair few matches and brings in the members/crowds then it will be worth it.

It depends what level you are at, really.

He was never going to step down a level, besides, after being subjected to the torture of having to play in full Tom Jones impersonator regalia he wouldn't want to play alongside Ian 'Samuel's Bunny' Wotton.

He was quoted as saying 'I'm glad there was a bidding war, otherwise the Bombers would have missed the deadline, the manager must have been massaging the legend that is Eddie Samuel's feet. Nonetheless I'm glad to play along side him as well as playing under a manager who know's how to win trophies. That's more important than Tom Jones to me, but rest assured, with these hands, on the green green grass of home - soon to be dusty? - I will perform'

He is still obviously getting over the torture of the Tom Jones era.....

The real reason he left is this:

He actually loved the tom jones karaoke and other such club events. But he wanted to live the life of a cricketing playboy. He wanted to party all the time, and he came to me in tears asking to be allowed to wax his chest. As otherwise the wannabe wags would simply look elsewhere.

of course I refused, and the transfer was engineered.

Good luck managing his PF after he goes to a nightclub every night.

Easy peasy, afterall he's come to the Bloemfontein Bombers, I can count all the worthwhile clubs in this place on one hand. With him being an Aussie, he'll probably dislike the horrid Afrikaans music that will be played in some places, so it leaves him only one club, and it has a crap DJ. Nevertheless, I'm sure he'll perform like an utter dweeb each Sunday as he joins his manager on Saturday nights ;)
