Ok,i get 75 k but the player wages add up to 80 k i think

I get 67k and have wages of 70k lol

Now that is an interesting player.

I think training on power would be good, and alternate between that and fielding.

But he's quite weird. He'd only have been trained in batting this whole time.

Yeah, power to ordinary, fielding to poor then batting technique. One good thing about that transfer is that it makes me know that I should be able to get about 150K for Elgin who is Spectacular/Outstanding and has average power and ordinary fielding.

How important is 'power'?

In your division, I doubt it makes a difference at all. With no power, they score 150 off 140 balls, with power they score 170 runs off 120 balls and it barely makes a difference to an outcome of a match when you are winning by so much.

How important is 'power'?

Well, it might be worthless, but you can still train him in power. Maybe until it reaches average. Might help you a lot in friendly matches.

Basically power is the ability to score quickly in terms of boundaries. It also affects pace bowlers - more power means a better pace bowler.
