I don't care what the police did to 'inconvenience' some fans, somehow I view death threats as a bit more inconvenient.
Without wanting to sound like Pauline Hanson, the European soccer fans can go back to where they came from. Some of these fans are just absolute morons and all they want to do is throw flares onto the ground and start fights. We don't need that sort of thing, we don't have it in any of our sports and we don't need it starting up.
I know that not all soccer fans do this but there seems to be a bloody lot of them. Watch the game and if you lose get over it, blame the refs and complain a lot but don't get physical. The A-League is starting to see stuff like this and it's absolutely disgraceful. Thank goodness we don't see it happen much in AFL or rugby.
You are grouping two completely different soccer nations together here mate. Once again, the people who are getting all aggro at the soccer in Australia are Australians. Just because someones last name ends with 'zartiti' doesn't mean they must of just jumped of the boat from Italy. They are just as Australian as you are (although apparently not, according to you Aussies are civil when it comes to sport...)Again, it's these Greeks and Italians and whatever they happen to be that are causing the problems.
Once again, you are putting Australian's over one side, and soccer fans over the other side. Part of the reason soccer has this whole violent side to it is the sheer size of the sport. Of course AFL and NRL aren't going to get that sort of insane reaction, they are tiny sports that most people don't care at all about. Soccer on the other hand, is the world's biggest game. More fans=more violent fans.Aussie may enjoy getting drunk but we're pretty civil when it comes to sport. Football is fantastic because everyone's too busy watching the games to fight with each other. If this is what soccer fans do then they must not be enjoying the games much, and say what you want but the fact is if the supporters are engrossed in the game they don't start abusing each other and arguing/brawling.
What's your point? In fact, you are proving my point. There are more soccer fans in the world than there are Australians. 90,000 turn up to the odd collingwood game is nothing, when you are facing up against a sport that is played on pretty much every country on earth.Im sorry Jordox but your wrong as 90,000 fans come sometimes and ill say about 35,000 people turn up on average each game?(im not to sure about average).
Australia dont encourage violence did you see Australia in the world cup '06?

I don't follow... What countries do encourage violence in sport? Tell me that.. And yes I did see Australia in the 2006 world cup, once again, what is your point?

My point is at the pub they have the footy on and pretty much everyone who watches it has it with a beer and i never see violence or anything like that after a game.
You need to get a train to school??
The fact is, soccer is a bandwagon jumping sport. How many people on this forum for example go for a team outside their area? You live in Middlesex but support a London club. Leicester Fox lives in Leicester but goes for a Manchester club.
Soccer definitely goes backwards more than AFL does.
Thats no excuse to start attacking police officers though is it?Rangers played crap
I reckon Moscow will be worse. Apparently all the Russian casuals are itching for a pop against the famous English hooligans.
Pfft. People have been knifed and bashed at countless NRL games (Canterbury Bulldogs, anyone? ).
