TV Graphics Editing - Including Sky, C4, nine, ESPN STAR, and Ten Sports

For creating transparent background you have to create a alpha channel
For creating a alpha channel this is what i do on paint shop pro
  • first select the area's which you want to make transparant
    then from the menu bar
  • Selection--->Invert
  • Selection--->Load/Save Selection--->Save selection to Alpha channel
  • Layers--->Load/Save Mask--->Load Mask from Alpha channel
  • then save the image with 24 bit colour depth
i hope this helps you.

Terrific stuff Ste, adds a whole new realism to the game :cool: . Just maybe the name length/size needs adjusting so the players' total can be seen (see the pic of Strauss leaving the field). Superb work mate!

hi....well this seems go work but now the only problem is that....how can make that "LIVE" thing transparent.....i mean the main logo is rectangular is very easy to select it, but how am i gonna select the "live" thing to make it transparent.

and also....how can i resize an image,i.e,make it bigger, WITHOUT loosing its quality. i hate that boxes boxes which appear at the edges when i make them bigger.

Just tried it, it looks great. Btw if you want i can convert the sky09.txt file to GI import zip format.

Yeah that would be great Prakash, I did try using the export option in the graphics importer but it seemed to only export the files in the original list.txt.

You need to select the area you want to be transparent and then invert selection.

The images in the Sky Sports patch are made as .tgas 3 times as big as they are displayed in the game, if I made the the size I used in the length and width settings for each "textbutton" then they ended up looking blury.

Also if you are to try moving stuff around, the X and Y co-ordinates for a window are set whatever resolution you are playing as 640 X 480. x =0 y =0 is always on the bottom left hand corner of the screen (with x being horizontal co-ordinate and y being the vertical co-ordinate).However when you change the x and y co-ordinates of the "textbutton"s 0 x 0 is always based on the bottom left of the "window" that the textbutton is a member of but the co-ordinates are still based on 640 X 480. I hope that is clear to understand!

Which bit would you like transparent? Do you have a picture of what you want transparent? The way I did it is the way Prakash said to do it using Paint Shop Pro.

I've had a decent look at this. In addition to the points already made can you make the player name writing smaller? If you look at the pic posted above of the dismissed batsman the names are too big and all overlap.

There is a new Sky09.txt attached to the first post - Download it here. This fixes this problem. Does it look ok now?

Hi

Did you try the update I posted -http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3384 put that Sky09.txt file into the config editor in the same way as the original one and the problem with the text going over other text should be fixed.

Yeah, I think thats just something EA Sports have done wrong though, maybe someone could edit the exe to fix it?
