Fair enough. His target audience is fairly narrow and his style isn't laugh a minute so i can see why people don't like him. And he does come across as being very smug and borderline pretentious.

However i don't think his skill can be questioned. for the subset of people who he aims for he crafts his shows brilliantly. Making legitimate points while making people laugh. He doesn't set out to play a percentage game of making as many people laugh as often as possible. But for what he aims to do he does to a very high standard.

I've watched a few clips and I like it so far. Love the dry cutting nature of his delivery.

Ha Sedition, you need to get hold of the Ricky Gervais podcasts. Just him, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. They were basically what made Karl massive. They then did idiot abroad, but also re-edited the radio podcasts into a cartoon of sorts with some basic animation. If you like listening to stuff on the move, get the podcasts. If you prefer sitting down and watching something, get the cartoon version.

Definitely worth taking the time to watch the cartoon version of the Ricky Gervais Show. The facial expressions of Karl alone crack me up, and if you're feeling lazy, you don't even need to use your imagination

Having seen An Idiot Abroad first, it was like reading a prequel that explained all of the backstory behind Ricky and Steve sending Karl on all those diversions and having him interact with certain people. Shows what kind of character Karl is, that Idiot Abroad can stand on it's own and still draw people in.

Apparently series three of Ricky Gervais is set to kick off on the 20th, so I'll be deep into withdrawals by then.

Just finished Breaking Bad. Wow!!! Incredible show, the fourth season is absolutely outstanding. Can't wait for the 5th season - when does it start airing and will it be the last?

Yea it's going to be the last and it should start either this summer or the fall.

Agreed that it's bad ass.

For Breaking Bad, 1st half of the fifth season is in July, it's eight episodes, second half of the fifth season is January, also eight episodes.

Only 16 hours of awesomeness left.

Game Of Thrones was sooooooooooo good tonight. Best episode so far.

Who could have seen that coming - Tywin Lannister teaming up with Ser Loral towards the end, to come to the Lannister's rescue?!

And lol'd @ Joffrey - probably my third favorite character in the series after Tyrion and Arya.
