really sad how a handful of confused terrorists spoil it for everyone else.

Venue should have been changed, to England or elsewhere, but delaying it for a Year is disappointing step

Totally aggre with it. The decission was idotic and rubbish. BLoody arrogant and selfish Commitee

CL possibly in Jan

Even as the world remains dazed over the terror attacks in Mumbai, the International Cricket Council (ICC) debates whether it’s time to bring changes in the Future Tours Program (FTP) and analysts try to figure out how badly cricket’s financial muscle has taken a hit, T20’s latest monster is still breathing.organizers of the tournament are hoping to stage the event in January, when most big players can be made available.

Pak tour is in danger,so possibly BCCI is placing CL in that time slot...

Would be great if CL can be played in Australia. Not seen a world level tournament there for ages. 92 was last world cup held in Australia

Yes it would be really facinating to see CL in Aus,because Aus grounds are terrific, big grounds, nice outfields, good evenly balanced wickets (which helps bowling and batting)...

Top officials associated with the Champions Twenty20 League will discuss on Friday 12th Dec,whether the postponed tournament can be held in early 2009, but the prospects of the inaugural edition being squeezed in a packed international schedule "look dim".The event, originally due to take place from December 3-10 in India, was put off after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. Subsequent discussions among the BCCI, Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia - the three founding partners - focused on identifying a possible window in January or February with India remaining the hosts.

Lets hope that we get to see CL early next year, its a different tournament altogether, world domestic teams fighting together at International level.

The inaugural Champions Twenty20 League has been pushed back by a year and will now be held in India in October 2009, the window originally identified for the tournament's second edition. The organisers - the BCCI, Cricket Australia (CA) and Cricket South Africa (CSA), meeting in a teleconference on Friday - said they took the decision to cancel the event "after considering all aspects, including the international calendar and the domestic schedules of the participating teams".

We will have to wait till OCt then, its quite long from here...10 more months...

This year's edition of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament has been cancelled over security concerns following the Mumbai attacks, organisers said on Friday.

The inaugural edition of the $6 million event, involving eight teams from five countries, will now be staged in October 2009, an official told Reuters.

Teams from Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa and India were due to have played in the event scheduled for this month.

At least 179 people were killed in the attacks in Mumbai last month.

WA and Victoria have been told they have missed out on the chance to play in the event and will have to attempt to re-qualify next month by finishing first or second in the Australian domestic Twenty20 series, which involves the six state sides from December 26 to January 24.

I feel sorry for them, anyone knows if this apply to other teams from other country's?

Why wait till Oct when the India Pak tour is virtually off ???

Also,if they wait till Oct,it will mean an all new star cast as the teams will be required to re-qualify...
