Gilchrist first man to reach 50:
Adam Gilchrist has become the first man to reach 50 in the match as he ran one to fine leg for two runs. Him and Ponting have taken the score onto 100/1 and will be looking to accelerate in the final 8 overs to try and score the 112 required. England's bowlers have not performed well in this match and will be looking to get better in the match against Pakistan in 2 days. England should still be favourites to win the match, however, Australia must accelarate to get to the target - so will they?

Australia struggle to get the runs whilst losing Ponting:
Australia have made just 19 in two overs, leaving six and a half overs for them to get 93 from 39 balls! They have lost Ricky Ponting for 20 after Ian Blackwell bowled him. But for the Australians, its not the wickets that are the problems - its the runs! They will struggle to pull this match off and if they do they should go on and win the tournament!

England sniff victory as powerhouse Gilchrist is bowled:

Australia snatch thriller with six from Symonds!
Australia have won this thriller by 5 wickets after a last ball six from the new batsman Andrew Symonds. He edged it and it flew into the air but went over everybody and into the crowd! The Australians jumped with joy but the English were dumbfounded at their HUGE score being chased down! However, they showed sportsmanship by shaking the Australians hands.
