Hey, i'm not sure what forum this is supposed to go on so sorry if its on the wrong forum.

We (Waringstown Cricket Club,Northern Ireland) have signed a player called Victor Mpitsang as our professional for the 2010 season. I don't know a lot about him except he is a medium-fast bowler, the youngest player to play for South Africa, plays his cricket at the Eagles, played Basketball at the top level and has little ablity to bat.

Can any Eagles or South Africian fans tell me a bit about him. Is his batting really that poor? How good is his bowling?

Thanks!

Victor Mpitsang - Right Arm Fast Bowler

002395.jpg
A fast bowler in the Courtney Walsh mould, Victor Mpitsang became the youngest person to play for South Africa when he made his ODI debut against West Indies at Bloemfontein in February 1999 (he was 18 years and 314 days) and he performed admirably after apoor start, taking 2 for 49, including wickets with successive deliveries. But only one more chance followed - he bowled three overs in an ODI against Kenya - although he continues to take wickets for Free State. He has no pretentious as to his batting. He has also played basketball for Free State.

Victor has loads of bowling experience,he will never bowl a team out but keeps a good line and length to build up pressure. He is a decent fielder wont ever really let you down in that department. As for batting dont expect much.
So in short a solid cricketer but will never dazzle the opposition.

Pretty slow these days but will be a good profesional for the club. a Nice bloke as well.

4-27 on debut vs Carrick - Bowled superbly.
1-50 vs North Down - Injured. Too many no balls
3-50 vs Ballymena - Good second spell vs first was poor
1-23 vs CIYMS - Good 6 overs in a 30 match (rain)
0-41 vs Lisburn - Not great
1-48 (I think) - Again not great bowling. Hit the winning runs as we win by 2 wickets.

In other cup matches he has been average. So all in all a couple of decent spells but the fact that he does not bat and he has not been fully fit is a huge factor. Thw wickets are great over here with the weather and some great professionals around like Craig McMillian (CIYMS) and David Jacobs (Instonians)

Craig McMillan, holy ████ is this some mini IPL, how the heck did they pull him?

A team called CIYMS have a lot of money coming from a company called Hughes and Insurance. He has played well and he is a class above others in this league they also have a guy called Ben McCord. AB De Villiers played over here before he became an international star and hit a couple of double hundreds.

Update

3-35 - 10 Overs vs CIYMS (Cup semi final) - Bowled superbly in his second spell. CIYMS got 295 thanks to 104 from 68 balls from McMillian.
