The banner looks good. Background is sweet and simple.
Quite confused for the text. It looks perfect, but is it suitable for a graphics thread, is what comes to my mind.
The "ice effect" the banner gives is amazing, and that makes it look a bit unique.

I would suggest you to stick with the same text. Just remove the two black bars, they make the banner look a bit amateur.
Overall, its quite good.
