Vista and Explorer

Generally I like Vista a hell of a lot more than I liked XP but there is one thing that grinds my gears......

....why does it think every bloody folder is photos or videos?

I don't want to rate my files, I don't want to know what genre they are. I want filename, size, type and last modified. I know I can change this manually, but does anyone know how I can make it default to that?

I suppose you should customize one folder, and make it the default kind, so that all folders copy that style de-facto.
I'm sorry I don't have Vista right now, so I cannot detail the steps how to do it, but I'm sure there is an option of customization somewhere in the menus.
Try in Folder options, or customize in the right click context menu.

Weird doesn't do that for me. The easiest way is to go to the parent folder, right click properties. Then customize, "use this folder as template" and check the apply to subfolders. Might be another way but I have no idea on it.
