I was playing a 50 over against Warwickshire and found out that we can bowl overs after overs without conceding runs.

What i did was, press "O" (short pitch) and then push the LS down and deliver the ball as slow as possible by pressing the RS down early during the run up and just leave it like that without pushing the RS up.

The ball will pitch short and bounce knee length to the batsman. But for some strange reason the AI was unable to hit any runs against this. They just keep pushing the ball to the mid-on/mid-off fielders.

I've attached an image below. "R.Nair" is my career player. The 3 Runs that were scored off him were due to overthrows.

Have you faced one of these while batting?

They're very, very difficult to get away - back foot shots square tend to play over the top of the ball, and front foot shots are difficult to hit anywhere except to mid-on/mid-off.

Rank long-hops like you describe should actually trigger a separate batting mode, where you simply pick where you'd like the four to go ...

I haven't faced much against AI bowling, but its's certainly taking the fun out of the game for me. I just took 7 wickets in a t20 mqtch in four overs giving away just 6 runs!!!

What I've noticed is that this is happens only in Career mode. When I tried bowling the same in a casual match the AI just pulled me for sixes and also played dilscoop easily.

Bowling in career mode i have played 7 t20 matches now with an economy rate of 2.63 and 40 wickets. (pro)

it's an exploit, because you're not actually using the controls properly, and by your own admission spoils the fun, so why the hell are you continuing to do it?

It also goes to show the flaw in the game where you just have to do such a simple thing to beat the AI, which should be happening. It is such a simple concept in cricket where a bad ball should be smashed around park if it's bowled over and over again rather than being nearly impossible to hit.

yes, but it's not like "i bowl an outswinger on off stump and they edge it every time..." it's "i don't use the controls properly, and something weird happens"... well d'uh. in other news, the sun came up this morning.

Sigh , Here old grumpy goes again on his weekly rant....

In other News , BA missed the trick in not closing a loophole exploit in the system that allows cheaters to bowl an unplayable ball.

EDIT : Or did they fix it in Patch2 ??? The suspense is killing us.

ross once mentioned making the timing window larger for long hops and the like, so you almost can't fail to bury it perfectly when you see one. no idea if they actually implemented this or not though.

they haven't, it'd be a good idea especially as the AI loves to do this with medium pacers.

my point is a)not providing a full control input and receiving an odd outcome is hardly unexpected. i am not saying BA shouldn't look at it, it's still an exploit, but it's not in the same league as doing something properly and getting an odd result. and b)as it consciously requires him not to bowl properly, and he admits to not enjoying the result, it baffles the bejesus out of me as to why he would continue doing it.

oh, and point c - you're a nonce.

Your point is so correct you made my point better than me!! It's not like he is bowling perfect outswinger therefore batsman finds it hard to hit every time, the point is he bowling something which will be considered rubbish bowling but the batsman just can't hit it. D'uh! Plus he is not doing something weird with controller it's part of the game to be allowed to bowl like that.

you only bowl like that by not completing the control process. i am not saying it's not something that shouldn't be looked at, i am saying the fact of something odd happening by not performing the correct action is unsurprising.

and, to make the point for a third time, it's truly astonishing to go out of his way to do something that he doesn't find fun for 7 matches. why? i genuinely can't compute that. i discovered this "exploit" previously, repeated it a few times to confirm, then shrugged my shoulders and carried on playing as expected. just bowl properly, i.e. how the game expects you to; because that is fun.

IMO slow half trackers and long hops should be easy to hit a la AC09. In Ashes Cricket 2009 they had the concept of good, ok and poor lines & length and if you got a poor delivery it was easy to punish it as the timing window for it was larger. Maybe DBC 14 can implement a similar concept for slow long hops from medium pacers and spinners, and for deliveries where folks don't complete the bowling control process. Though for the latter (not completing the bowling process), I would prefer a no-ball to be called as it will get the folks to abandon the strategy pretty quickly.

perhaps make it so that if you don't push the stick up at all: it turns into a big leg side wide or something? If you push up late then it should still go straight: but if you don't then it goes way down the leg side for a wide. That's what seems to happen to spin bowlers: if you don't push up then the ball ends up easy to ignore down the leg side...

Here's a fix; Just don't bowl like a douche. Games developers don't design games for people being morons. It's not an "exploit" if you're not playing the game properly, jesus.

Why? Why is someone a moron? Just dont react to people or in threads if you feel they are saying something stupid, just let people have their conversations....
