A new Breed of Dog
The Western Bulldogs head into the 2008 with a very young list. One of the most exciting lists in the competition with the likes of Cooney, Cross, Griffen and Giansiracusa. They looked the goods at the end of the 2007 season, but with rewtierments to Chris Grant, and Brent Montgomery, things look tought for the Dogs ahead in 08.
The Dogs have recruited pretty well. Recruiting what they have been missing for a number of years. A decent ruckmen. They picked up big man from the Crows. Ben Hudson. The 29 year old has come back to Melbourne to finish off his veryshort AFL Career. Hudson debuted for the Crows in 2004, and now has found himself in the Dogs gurnsey 4 years later. It will be a good chance for Hudson to finish off his Career as the number 1 ruckmen in a team, as he would of been behind, Rhett Biglands this year at the Crows, with Biglands come back from injury.
The Bulldogs have also wanted a main Full Forward. Brad Johnson has had to fill that position for many years. Chris Grant was played up forward for the end of his career, but has mainly been a defender throughout his wonderful career. The Bulldogs have also picked up, Scott Welsh, also from the Crows. Welsh, 28, comes from the Crows to also finish his career in Melbourne. Welsh played with the Kangaroos at the start of his footy career, before heading to South Australia, and played some succesful seasons with the Adelaide Crows. Welsh comes to the Bulldogs, trying to help out their Forward line troubles.
